Not a great view
The rooms were quite bare bones in contrast to the hotel bar, which is beautiful. Overall, our reception was subpar. The doorman simply stands by the door and does not even open it when coming in with suitcases. This is again in contrast to our bartender who could not have been any better. This hotel has potential but needs to clean up a few areas. Also, if you are driving, be prepared to park in a parking garage that is extremely tight for any significantly sized vehicle. I drove a Volvo XC 90 and had to be very careful maneuvering in the parking garage.
Great location from the rail station.
NO AC and at least 10degrees hotter than outdoors with open windows. Staff indicated that no refunds allowed and so had to just lose $$ to go to another hotel with AC.
The rooms were bland and without character. When we arrived it was warm and we were located on the top floor. The only window in the room was in an odd corner away from the main part of the room. No breeze could enter. After much protesting, we were finally moved to a room on a lower floor with a small window in the main part of the room. While the exterior of this hotel is lovely, the interior is bland and without character.
Staff wasn't very helpful and the hotel was overpriced for what it provided.
Popped in for lunch waiting for the Dublin train. I must say that the staff were extremely friendly and the chicken wrap with chips and small side salad was excellent. It was extremely tasty and was reasonably priced.
Room is clean and pretty spacious. Location is excellent, near to main attractions. Parking is easy in nearby multi story QPark, less than 5 mins walk. Hotel provided discounted rate for parking. We were able to park the car right outside the hotel at the road side for loading and unloading of our luggage. Overall, good experience.
Breakfast could have been better in term of selection and quality for hotel of this scale.
Convenience to city and parking
I've never stayed in the Victoria hotel, but I've eaten here a few times and wanted to leave a review for their restaurant, Queen St restaurant. It's one of the best places you can eat near Eyre Square, and never too busy. We always order the salads, which are excellent - tasty, huge portions, and excellent value. I really like the decor in the bar too. They're also very accommodating if you have food allergies - my mother is coeliac, and they offer a good range of options.
Location
Staff wasn’t extremely knowledgeable with recommendations.
