Regular visitor to this little hotel. Staff very pleasant as always.
Rooms are now looking tired and could do with a makeover in my opinion. There are loose and broken tiles in the bathroom and fittings are loose or missing altogether. Parking has always been an issue here.
Really friendly welcome. Underground parking for motorbikes. Lovely breakfast included. Large clean rooms. Great location.

Bathroom in need of maintenance, peeling paint, loose grout & lifting floor tiles, bathroom door difficult to open. Breakfast service was slow with small portion size.
Stayed here weekend of 24th July.Quite handy location because i had a bowling competition nearby. Room was clean,spacious with plenty of cupboard space.Even a fan in the room.There is a safe in the room but waste of time because it was locked,i enquired at reception but nothing they could do.Shower over a bath which was very powerful.
Stayed for 2 nights and the room was made up on 2nd day.Plenty of t and coffee provided.
Breakfast was fine but let down by cheap packet sauces and sachets of salt and pepper.There is a coffee machine but like other people i had to be shown how to use it.Wanted a 2nd cup but could not be bothered to wait in line and go through the process again.
I decided to eat in the restaurant one evening because i was too tired to go anywhere.I thought the kitchen was closed at first because i could not see a chef.So i asked at reception and the guy behind reception worked the kitchen as well.To be fair the burger and chips I had was tasty but come on please do away with awful sachets of mayonnaise,ketchup,salt and pepper.
Could not understand why the hotel had a food rating of 1 but apparently it was due to the previous owners who ran the kitchen.
To be fair i must give credit to the guy behind reception who seemed to do everything.
The overall aesthetic of the place, the room was massive and beautiful styled. They had a lift which works and its close to other facilities like pubs, bars and restaurants.
Unfortunately 2 things; parking was one huge problem. When I arrived around 10pm friday night to check in there was no car parking spaces on the small plot of land. I had to park a 5 minute walk away in the train station car park which with a broken knee and cructhes is quite alot. The second one was completely out of there control but the room above me may aswell had concrete feet! Every foot step smashing on the floor.

The TV not working,toilet not clean,shower small and the shower drain not working (seems to be blocked)properly water.
Nothing. This is the worst place ive stayed. Dirty, uncomfortable, and very unkept
The whole experience. The whole hotel is dirty. We arrived at 9pm and asked if we could order a coffee to be told no, the bar is shut and coffee can only be served at breakfast.
We asked for 2 pillows as the bed only had 1 each with no spares in the room to be told they had none.
The bathroom door didnt close because of bodged tiles. I got grout stuck in my nail after stubbing my toe on uneven tiles, the majority of floor tiles were broken or uneven with all the grout coming out.
Curtains and bedsheets were stained and dead flies around the window
Met by a lovely young gentleman was very helpful. Our room was huge with 2 armchairs & a couch made up as a bed too. The bed was a 6 ft very comfortable, bathroom was lovely a bath & separate shower. Breakfast was delicious & very nicely presented.
Unfortunately 1st impressions were disappointing it needed a good sweep outside & windows & doors needed to be cleaned, but inside was clean decor was tired but it was beautifully designed & in it’s day was very tasteful done & lovely design.
