parking bit difficult but we got, rooms good but bathroom door no lock and one room bathroom door can't close.
rooms very good
only bathroom doors not good
small parking area on the side, very convenient. Nice Fan in the room.
toilet door would not close and therefore could not use the toilet in private. Only 1 towel to share but more were provided when requested. Food hygiene rating is only a 1 at this hotel. Wi-fi dipped in /out so unstable to watch the TV.
I was offered a full English, and they had a vegan version too (although I settled for toast and cereal). The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bed was lovely and firm. It was very conveniently located.
The curtains covered a whole wall, but the window was very small so there was no ventilation and it was hot and stuffy - even with the window open. The paintwork everywhere is old chipped. There was a hole in the bathroom wall where I assume something had been removed. The toilet paper holder was kind of broken, and there was no plug (and I nearly lost a ring down there). There was no hand soap, or shampoo. The bedside lights were useless and only pointed at the floor - not at my book. The lights in the bathroom were gloomy, and in the bedroom a seedy yellow. There were no instructions about getting wi-fi etc, and no minibar/fridge. There was a club next door, which didn't turn off its music until midnight, and the trains were very noisy (but in winter you could at least have the windows shut).
The location is great and very convenient for the town centre and nearby train station. The adjacent car park (although only four cars can park there). Spacious rooms and a lift, which saves you carrying luggage up and down the stairs.
Front rooms get the noise from the high street, and back rooms get the noise from the railway. Breakfast is small and a little greasy. You will need to fill up on toast and cereal. Some minor decorating and maintenance issues need addressing to improve the quality.
All
Not much choice for breakfast
Everything except the food
Food was average rest was great
The staff where very friendly
Liked it all
It’s a old building but it was the best stay we’ve had for a while. It’s a hidden gem. The reason why is - we had a large room very good beds and a fantastic breakfast. Many thanks to the team. It is very slightly tired but don’t let that put you off
Nothing at all it was great
Im not one to leave negative reviews but Avoid!!bTiles were cracked and lifting in the bathroom easy to cut your foot, bedsheets were dirty, glass panels were cracked around doors, the place in general felt dirty and very dark. The place was over all not good unfortunately we had booked for 2 night but ended up only staying the one as it was very late when we arrived..
The Hotel was amazing. The staff were really helpful. The room was brilliant. The food was to die for with service to match.
I will always use this hotel when i am in the area. Thank you for a great stay.!!!
Nothing !!!
Second time staying here. The beds are the comfiest I’ve ever stayed in, staff are so helpful and perfect location. So happy to have big TV in room and Netflix…heaven!!
Nothing-it was a great break away!
All of it
Nothing
Good location. Well appointed, clean and tidy room. Great shower. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Particularly the lovely waitress at breakfast, who was very attentive.
The lighting in the room wasn't bright enough, but that's our opinion. As the hotel is so close to the railway station, it's a little noisy at times.
Shocking complete false advertisement
The price for the room was unbelievable
Mouldy fridges no use of the kitchenette which I paid a lot more for than a normal room
Painted the bathroom floor which then made everything in the room black including my feet !
Live wires hanging out of the tv because they could t fit the plug up the stem of the bracket
