No comparison with my stay last year, unfortunately.
Pros:

Without Mr. SHABY interference, my stay this year would be worse.
The prime location and friendly staff are still the main assets for the Stadt Hotel.

Cons:

The bad air conditioner, lack of proper quality control in Housekeeping and some of the dining staff.

Perfect choice
Pros:

The perfect place to stay if you're visiting Bolzano
Pros:

The location was a lot better than I thought, I couldn't believe that this was the 'cheapest' option I could find when I looked for hotels in Belzano! I guess I was lucky, cause I've payed a lot more for worse hotels in my life. This was brilliant! The breakfast was good, amazing coffee and we tried the spa - was also amazing.
Being in a wheelchair - I must say the hotel is also super accessible. We booked a 'normal' room, even that was easy enough for me to use. A 1inch/2-3cm step in to the room, was no problem. The bathroom all though maybe not big enough to turn around in in wheelchair, still easy enough to get in and out of. Since the shower was straigh ahead, easy enough to use. Staff were super nice and sorted out a shower chair for me. I'm fortunate to be able to take a step or two, so transferring from shower chair to wheelchair was easy enough, same with the loo, perfect hight and placement.
Overall amazing!! I'd go back today if I could!

Cons:

There was nothing about the hotel that I didn't like. As a wheelchair user, who is a bit short. Only one thing I wish they would change. They have this really nice solution, so that you can use a lift from the outside directly the the garage, the reception or up to your room floor. That lift has a card reader, understandable, that card reader is mounted a bit too high, above the buttons, in the lift.
I know, this is a problem for very few - but it was the only thing I didn't like. Everything else about the hotel was amazing!!
