Hotel Continentale

Frühstück ist gut, aber nicht sehr gut. Service freundlich, aber nicht 10.

Es gab da ein Problem und ich rate den Verantwortlichen dringend, dem nachzugehen: Bettwanzen. Nach jeder Nacht hatte ich ein paar Stiche mehr. Erst dachte ich an Mücken, die vor dem Winter nochmals was erleben wollen.
Jetzt aber weiss ich, im Zimmer waren Bettwanzen. Weil ich intensiv auf die Stiche reagierte, ging ich zu Hause zum Arzt, der mir diesen Befund bestätigte.
Es fragt sich jetzt, ob ich die Tiere oder deren Eier nach Hause gebracht habe. Das ist noch nicht klar
Ich beobachte vorsichtig und treffe alle Vorsichtsmassnahmen.
Wichtig ist, dass man im Hotel das ernst nimmt und etwas unternimmt.

The room description could have been more transparent in indicating that the ‘window’ faced a small internal light shaft (not even a courtyard) rather than offering a view to the exterior. Although the room had been renovated to a high standard, the limited natural light and lack of an outside view made the space feel claustrophobic.

Additionally, there appeared to be an issue with the building’s plumbing, resulting in a persistent and unpleasant odour coming from the pipes for the duration of my stay. The issue does not appear to be from one pipe it appears to be a fault in the entire piping system and needs to be evaluated by a professional engineering company.

Considering the room rate, which was comparable to that of the prestigious Double Tree hotel next door at the time of booking, I had expected a much more comfortable overall experience. While the quality of the renovation was appreciated, the room conditions and plumbing issue ultimately made the stay less satisfactory than anticipated, making me regret my decision in selecting this hotel over the neighboring one.

The HVAC in my room wasn’t working and I woke up to my room at 25 degrees. I let the front staff know and they tried to fix the problem, but it was ever resolved. I tried to open my windows as much as possible, but it was too chilly outside for them to be open for a long period of time.

Das Zimmer im 4 Stock 409 war sehr klein und dunkel. Der Abfluss am Waschbecken funktionierte nicht richtig, die Spülung der Toilette gluckerte ununterbrochen.
Leider hat mich das Frühstück auch nicht abgeholt. 2 Sorten Brot, schwer zu schneiden, aber sehr knusprig. 2 Sorten Käse, 1 Sorte Wurst und 2 Sorten Schinken, Eier auf Anfrage bzw. zu bestellen. (was ich sehr gut finde, da es frisch gemacht wurde) Kein Buffett eher eine kleine Auswahl an herzhaften Frühstück. Das ist auch im "alten Italien" so üblich gewesen! Einige Kuchen und Torten. Kleine Auswahl an Müsli und Joghurt im Glas. Wenn man eher herzhaftes möchte, war mir das für ein "Continental" zu wenig.

A small note: while I was having breakfast with my friends, they finished and left; then, while I was still eating, the waiter came and asked me to vacate the table for other customers—as if I didn't matter at all. Everything else was perfect—the location, the rooms, the cleanliness, the staff; everything was excellent.
