Better than good value for money.
Pros:

Modern hotel, form but comfortable bed, good amenities and good breakfast. Excellent air conditioning in room and free WiFi was good.

well run hotel and great location for train
Pros:

great staff and it was nice they left us wine though we didn't drink it.

Cons:

we only stayed one night. The room was fine but, given the price, we were disappointed by the view onto an air shaft with pipes & construction. Wine was a nice touch but we would have preferred complimentary water instead of overpriced little bottles in minibar. Breakfast was only fair compared to other hotels we stayed at.

Cons:

We got our reservation overbooked and we were transferred in the night to another hotel with no information in advance. The reservation was made 2+ months in advance for this hotel but we didn’t stay finally due to overbooking and they transferred us to another hotel - The Guardian one of their group- late in night that we arrived (2:30am!!). We had no information in advance about it and no extra compensation was provided for the inconvenience.

The Republic es fantastico, si recomiendo alojarse ahi
Pros:

el desayuno maravilloso, era buffet y muy muy completo, la ubicacion muy buena ya que queda muy cerca de los servicios de transporte y la habitacion pequeña pero muy bien ya que el baño la regadera funacionaba excelente.

todo muy bien!

All in all poor experience and reception staff were not sympathetic to complaints or very welcoming.

Cons:

Our window looked out onto a balcony with no access and it looked like a rubbish disposal area.
Cooked breakfast was a limited choice of greasy, poor tasting, cooked rice/potatoes/mixed veg/and meats,
and some boiled eggs-smelly and sitting on ice cubes.
There was late night/early morning noise from staff talking loudly and lengthily and outside rubbish disposal lorries.

Decent hotel but in a sketch neighborhood. Housekeeping sucks!
Pros:

The hotel is nice and close to the train station but be warned it’s in a sketchy Neighbourhood with lots of homeless around. The breakfast room staff was great.

Cons:

My only complaint is housekeeping never replaced/filled our shampoo and body wash bottles that were empty from the beginning of our stay. We also asked for an extra comforter multiple times because the bed was too hard and never received that either. Bare minimum hotel, don’t ask for extras because it won’t happen.
