Pros:

Very old hotel , old rooms , the poorest breakfast. There were many bags in my room .
The fruits in breakfast are canned.
The pool area are so lake old looks like a clubmad nothing FAR from five stars hotel

An old, neglected hotel with outdated rooms, peeling walls, and a general feeling that maintenance has been forgotten. The breakfast was extremely basic, with canned fruit rather than fresh produce.
Definitely more suitable for a 3-star hotel — and even then, a rating of 5 would be generous. Not a place I would recommend.

This was a great place to stay as a restful interlude during our Italian trip
Pros:

We loved the location with views across the bay and its own beach (swim in the sea or the pool) accessed by a footbridge across the road and then steps (or use the lift + slope or borrow the golf cart). Service levels were high with many of the staff we talked to returning for the summer season each year. We like breakfast on the terrace and our dinner in the restaurant was the best we've had in many years.

Cons:

The walk up the hill to the hotel from Santa Margherita. It isn't a long way but steep at the end of the day or with luggage - the smartphone digital map did not make this obvious in advance! Of course you can't have the location with views over the bay without being up a hill and we were unlucky to be there in the first 2026 heatwave.

Overall a beautiful place, definitely worth going.
Pros:

Beautiful location, right near the center of the town. Nice room, with marble bathrooms. Antiques everywhere. Beach was okay, water not as clear as Paraggi but still good .The main bonus of the property is the breathtaking view and all the greenery on the way to the beach.

Cons:

The housekeeping stuff wouldn’t knock, would just barge in, while i was either sleeping or changing. Happened almost daily and would really bother me. Even if the do not disturb tag wasn’t hung, I believe stuff should knock and wait a few seconds to hear a response. Breakfast selection wasn’t that great, the egg station would have a very long wait, and the chef was visibly overwhelmed, so would mess up or forget the orders. The beach food was quite bad, ingredients weren’t fresh and selection you could order to eat at the loungers was very basic (sandwiches mainly). No sauna or cold plunge was also disappointing (for a hotel of this level). No coffee machine or kettle in the room was also disappointing as that meant you had to either order room service, or go downstairs in the morning which isn’t always ideal if you want to have a coffee first thing in the morning.
