Superbly located for Boboli gardens and Pitti Palace. A historic building. Tastefully decorated and furnished with antiques. with beautiful flowers on the balconies. Great view over the Annalena gardens. I loved the jasmine on the balcony divider screens. Pleasant and helpful staff. High ceilings. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure with ample hot water.
The stairs were a struggle with luggage. The a/c remote did not work for our first night and the a/c itself struggled with a heat wave given how large the suite was. Adequate though. I prefer a walk in shower to a bath tub but that’s personal preference. However the tub base was very slippery. A bath mat would have helped. Also the shower screen did not meet the top of the bath so the bathroom floor got rather wet.
The receptionist is really friendly and helpful. That made my entire experience much better.
Quiet district not far from everything.
The hotel is part of a mediaeval palazzo with fantastic history. Annalena turned it into a nunnery after her husband's assassination. Pre 1st World war it was believed to be a high high class bordello.
O
Ground storey must be more than 30 ft high so it was quite a slog up the 3 staircases to the lodging on the 1st storey. We are octogenarians. A lift is out of the question because it is a listed building. The weather was in 30's every day but veranda only useful early morning, late evening. Parasols or awnings would be great additions to the facilities.
It was close to everything. There was a market, a place for a late afternoon Aperol spritz, the Speculo almost directly across the street. This is an outstanding natural history museum. Breakfast was good and espresso machine was nice.
The entry area is really shabby, and completely uninviting. You feel lost when you first get there. More signage is needed for encouragement to continue forward. The hot water was irregular.
Excellent staff, simple but very clean room. Nice breakfast. Very welcoming.
Old school hotel very close to the centre with many restaurants nearby. Friendly staff. Aircon in the room worked well in the heatwave.
The bathroom / shower is very small. Hotel is slightly dated and could do with some modernisation.
Mooie accommodatie in een hele leuke buurt. Personeel is erg vriendelijk.
Er zijn bouwwerkzaamheden naast het hotel. Veel overlast van lawaai gedurende de dag.
Great location, beautiful old building
It needs some serious refurbishment, it’s a strange mix of nice antiques, dilapidated doors and window frames and bathrooms from the 70s, mattress was old
Friendly staff, good location, quiet neighbourhood
Though the facility looks great, the rooms vary
Amenities could be improved (no slippers provided, no safe…)
Great staff, very friendly and helpful.
Room cleanliness. Floors were dusty beneath furniture and corners.
