Excellent location
There is no lift
Wow. Wasn't expecting much with the price that I paid. Pleasently suprised. Room had resently been painted, bathroom was a desent size and the shower was piping hot. Toilet very clean. There was even a fan in the room. Security was good and I felt safe when door was locked.
A nice little table to put the kettle/tea/coffee on instead of using a chair. Entrance and stairs carpet/ballastrade are a little worn and showing their age.
The room was clean and the bathroom was reasonably modern.
Firstly. I booked and somehow got the wrong date, I called immediately (less than a minute) to adjust and the hotel wouldn’t, even though there were rooms available. The advertising is false. It says parking available. When I asked where it was the concierge (sic) shrugged and said I can park anywhere in London. The only nearby carpark is closed to public, all streets are permit or 4 hours max. We parked long way away, at £60/day.
The two rooms we booked faced an inner ‘area’ with no natural air flow. The temp outside was 25 degrees. It was over 32 degrees in the room all night. Unbearable.
Emplacement idéal, porche du métro, mais aussi commerces de bouche autour, quelques musées à pied. Une bouilloire à disposition.
Pour une quadruple chambre, espace trop étroit (un lit double et 2 lits simples prennent tout l'espace)
Rapid response to the problems with the room. Newly refurbished even if they weren't finished.
No lift to get to the 5th floor, no kettle and tea/coffee making facilities when arrived, not even a glass for tap water. It was 36° outside and no airconditioning in the room! Had to ask for the promised iron by email too. The café for breakfast below the hotel wasn't open the first morning but didn't leave a message. Had to hang the wedding outfits on the shower wall as there was no wardrobe. Obviously this wasn't resolved during our stay.
Great staff member super helpful
Nothing
Our room looked like it had just been decorated so was fresh and clean.
No secure luggage storage area, it looked liked the room had had very recently been decorated but hadn’t been fully furnished yet. So no side tables, lamps, mirror etc.
Terrible experience had heart surgery on the 2nd of June discharged on the 7th must not travel alone so decide to book 3 nights at the Brompton when I arrive I am told I have made a mistake and booked the 21st 22nd and 23rd not the 7th 8th and 9th when I asked if it would be possible to move those dates and start them from the 7th as I had just had heart surgery and should not travel (I live a 4 hour train journey away) I was told no but I could pay to stay from the 7th so effectively the hotel was seeking to make me pay double for the 3 nights -That's nice of them! did have a look into one of the rooms before I decided and it was very grubby a bit like the attitude of the staff. Ended up not staying and travelling back on the train.
Everything
Fantastic helpful and friendly staff, brilliant location next to South Kensington tube, spotlessly clean and room replenishment daily and meticulous to detail. Hotel common areas and rooms will benefit from the ongoing refit, but I haven’t found a better hotel in London for anything like the cost of this one. Definitely consider it for your stay.
The location is incredibly convenient and the staff is very nice and welcoming.
I understand they are renovating: the only item in our room was a bed and a fan. No bed side tables. No wardrobe. No table/chair. Literally no surface to put anything on. We had to use the floor. Not nice.
If you leave your luggage there, watch out because the lobby is an open corner of the staircase, didn’t feel safe.
The location was premium: close to a subway station with lines going all over town, yet very quiet. Staff was very nice and helpful.
There was a strange smell (which dissipated as soon as you turned the fan on).
Posizione perfetta vicino alla metro e in un bellissimo quartiere. Staff molto gentile. Camera pulita e letto comodo
