Important information:

Please note that the Old Town is a pedestrianized area. Guests can drive to the hotel for unloading luggage. Access is only possible via Bergstraße. The reception provides reduced tickets for the Linzergasse public parking garage (at Glockengasse 4a).

Arrival and departure is possible from Monday to Saturday from 06:00 to 11:00. From 11:00 onwards and on Sundays and public holidays guests require a code which is available upon request via the telephone. Guests can call Altstadt Hotel Stadtkrug free of charge from the bollard by the property.

When traveling with pets, please note that an extra charge of 10 per pet, per night applies.

Fantastic Stay in a Hotel with Character
Pros:

The hotel is very atmospheric with a fantastic historical ambience. The location is very good, right on the main pedestrian route for cafes and bars (taxis are allowed, so no problem there), with a short walk to the attractions over the river. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and professional. The room was spacious and comfortable with an excellent shower and good lighting for reading. Breakfast was a buffet with a good selection. And check out the decorated lift doors!

Cons:

Air conditioning in the room was very noisy. Not enough electrical points in the room for charging, hair care etc. Be aware if you have any mobility issues (as one of us has) that there are steps (with a handrail) to Reception, to the lifts, and to the Breakfast room. There isn’t much you can do to avoid a few steps in a historical building, but it is a bit misleading to say “upper floors accessible by elevator” without explaining that there are several steps to negotiate even to reach the elevators.

We loved our stay in Salzburg and would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Pros:

The hotel was very quiet, clean and centrally located. Also, the breakfast was plentiful and offered many different types of food from cold to hot buffet.

Cons:

The air conditioner in our room was a little noisy, and as the staff were unable to correct the problem, they gave us a new room.
