Hotel Marbella

My room was extremely noisy. You can hear everything happening in any adjacent room - upstairs, across the hall, next door, etc. There are bars all around and you can hear the music pumping until all hours of the night. To top it off, the woman staying in the room next to me had an issue with her lock and they were trying to get her in to her room until midnight - banging on the lock, loud conversations in various languages as to how to go about remedying the situation, drilling the lock out, etc. This went on until after midnight. Then someone was back the next day at 8:30am to recommence the drilling, banging, etc. Then there was the group of young women staying down the hall who were whooping it up, screaming, hollering, etc. It sounded like they were having a good old time, unfortunately it was not as much fun for me :). In short, don't expect to get much rest if you're staying in this hotel.
The other thing I will note is that cleanliness was not top of their agenda. The carpet on the stairs looked like it had never been cleaned, there was dust and dirt on the top of the light switches and the baseboards, stains on the ceiling of the bathroom and mold in the shower. The sheets were clean, though, so that was good.
I would not stay here again despite the good location. There are plenty of other hotels in the area and hopefully they have better sound insulation.

La habitación no era absolutamente nada que ver con la descripción, era de tan mala calidad que sacando jabón se salió una baldosa de la muralla. Tuvimos invasión de hormigas, no habían enchufes en ningún lugar estratégico, el aire acondicionado es antiguo y regular. Es como una habitación de pésima calidad donde te cobran extremadamente caro por la ubicación. No lo recomiendo para nada, fue tan incomodo que dormir ahí me provocó dolor de espaldas y me sentí tonta de botar el dinero así.

De kamer vonden wij echter klein en niet erg schoon. Ook ontbrak afzuiging in de badkamer, waardoor deze vochtig bleef.

Het grootste probleem vonden wij de brandveiligheid. Voor zover wij konden zien was er slechts één vluchtroute. Daarnaast werden op iedere verdieping de brandwerende deuren met kastjes opengehouden. Dat is naar mijn mening een zeer serieus veiligheidsrisico, omdat deze deuren juist bedoeld zijn om de verspreiding van rook en brand te beperken.

Wij hebben dit bij de receptie gemeld. Bij brand op een lagere verdieping kan de enige vluchtroute door rook of vuur onbruikbaar worden. Gasten op hogere verdiepingen kunnen dan mogelijk afhankelijk worden van redding door de brandweer met een ladderwagen. Dat is niet hoe een veilige vluchtwegvoorziening bedoeld is te functioneren.

Door deze situatie hebben wij ons niet veilig gevoeld. Zolang dit niet aantoonbaar wordt opgelost, zouden wij dit hotel daarom niet opnieuw boeken.

Verder is het ontbijt matig en karig.
