We loved our stay here. The room was a good size and very comfortable, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is close to the metro, making it easy to get to the main tourist areas. It’s also within walking distance of La Latina, where we had some great dinners.
This hotel was perfect for our conference at the nearby University. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and our junior suite was clean and spacious. I have no complaints about the hotel itself, but I do want to mention one issue. We skipped the full breakfast and just had coffee and a croissant at the lobby cafe, which was just right for us. However, on the morning of the 9th, something happened that still bothers me. Our bill was about 20 euros, and I left a 5-euro tip, as that was all I had. I didn’t expect a thank-you, but I also didn’t expect to feel embarrassed by the waitress’s reaction; she waved the 5 euro at her fellow workers and said something in Spanish, and they all laughed. This was the only negative experience; everyone else who served us was kind and friendly. I even asked my Spanish colleague if I had done something wrong, and she said, "Absolutely not; you should have complained." I didn’t want to cause trouble for anyone, so I let it go at the time, but it has stayed with me, so I wanted to share it here. I’m curious if anyone else has had a similar experience.
