Breakfast was lovely - buffet with breads, cheese, yogurt, cereal things, eggs and bacon cooked to order.
Bedroom - very comfy bed, incredible shower and tub, magnified mirror, coffee machine similar to Nespresso, kettle, toiletries, big lotion. Afternoon tea, biscuits, honor bar for wine (but you really had to ask and it was poured for you)
A big fat duvet - weather outside was 94 degrees each day. A duvet? Really? Who sleeps under a duvet in that weather? The air conditioner was turned down to 17 degrees and the first night we still slept in a pool of sweat. We took the inside out of the duvet cover and just slept under the cover the rest of our stay. That was truly the only downside.

We have stayed here before. The hotel is very cosy and welcoming and centrally located for Notre Dame and Pont Marie Metro. Very comfortable beds, beautiful decor, friendly staff and a quiet location.
Nothing
We were woken by huge noises outside the room early Monday morning. Four floors of scaffolding were put up just outside our window. No apologies, no response to manager complaints, just awful. The terrible air conditioner and workers outside the window made the experience awful. Just read the other comments on the lift, not worth the risk of staying.
Lots of tourists like American style hotels. I avoid them like the plague. In Paris what matters is charm, location, service and modest size. The Hotel L de Lutece delivers on all points. Ancient buildings mean quirky rooms. But their rooms are well-decorated and functional, and in the middle range of size. The location is non-pareil: Paris is a walking city, and Ile St Louis is dead center. In some rooms you can lean out the window and see Notre Dame. The island is also incredibly quiet, like pre-war Paris, and the hotel is surrounded by great restaurants, bistros, cafes, creperies, grocery stores; people walk in the streets. There's a small kitchen for breakfast, and you can get wine in the lobby; there's often cake out. The staff is uniformly helpful and kind. I've stayed four times now; many Frenchmen come back over years. Just don't tell anyone.
The location was excellent especially for the activities and sights that we wanted to see and do.
The room was too tight for 2 people. Also it needs to have a mini-refrigerator especially if one has medication that needs to be refrigerated.
The breakfast choices were limiting.
