We stayed here for one night, as we toured Italy as a family of 4. The hotel was close to the Firenze Santa Maria, an easy walk, even with luggage. Close by there were several places to eat, drink and buy essentials. The hotel was beautiful, very clean, spacious and well equipped. Frederica on reception was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. We would strongly recommend this hotel to any visitors to Florence, it is easy to find and surrounded by options. The hotel room was clean, beds comfortable, air con kept us nice and cool in the heat of Italy in August. Bathroom was beautiful, lots of helpful accessories provided. Only small downside was no kettle in the room, but plenty of places near by to buy hot drinks.

We had a wonderful stay at The Galileo Hotel in Florence. Federica was incredibly welcoming, kind, and helpful from the moment we arrived. Beyond check-in, she gave us fantastic recommendations for restaurants and activities that made our time in Florence even more enjoyable.
The hotel was spotless, surprisingly spacious by European standards, and the shower had excellent water pressure—a small detail that made a big difference after long days of sightseeing. The location was perfect, just a 10–15 minute walk to all the major attractions, as well as some of the city’s best shopping and restaurants.
We absolutely loved our stay, loved Florence, and would happily stay here again. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I stayed for 4 nights in the Hotel Gallileo in Florence, during the brutal heat wave during the 4th week of June 2026. The hotel was the most comfortable place to be! The AC in this hotel was great! I had a double room, which was very nice, with a good sized bathroom, and a small refrigerator.
Breakfast every morning was very good, including hard boiled eggs, cereals, yogurt, several types of bread and rolls, cheese and cold cuts, tomato slices and cherry tomatoes, cucumber slices, buffalo mozzarella balls and lettuce, packets of olive oil, cut fruit (melon and pineapple), croissants and a number of other pastries and cakes, several juices, and of course coffee. The coffee choices included cappuccino, espresso, Americano, etc. There were also things in packets, but I never really looked to see what they were.
Everyone working at the hotel was so nice and helpful, giving directions, restaurant suggestions, maps, bus routes, etc, and overall, just pleasant to talk to. I mostly dealt with Cristina and Frederica. And Claudia, who works at both the Florence and Pisa hotels, does what they call the BZAR experiences - for me, this was a tour of Pisa, exploring some hidden gems, and ending at the leaning tower. Claudia is a lovely person, and I truly enjoyed her tour, even in the unbearable heat.
The hotel is located a short walking distance from the main train station (Santa Maria Novella) and tram stop. And on this street between the train station and hotel are dozens of restaurants, gelato places, the equivalent of an American dollar store (a €1.19 store), a grocery store, a laundromat, and various other kinds of establishments. There is also a huge outdoor market, selling primarily leather goods, but also jewelry, scarves, etc, just a few blocks away.
And, the hotel is walking distance from the center of town, where you find the Duomo, the Uffizi gallery, the Ponte Vecchio, and other points of interest.
I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again, and I would definitely recommend it.
