his is a classy and refined hotel with a strong emphasis on impeccable service and outstanding food. The entire property is beautifully decorated with original artworks, and each room has its own unique character and theme. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was exceptional. Breakfast offered an abundant selection of fresh, delicious food, and the complimentary afternoon tea, served with homemade cakes, was a welcome treat after a day of exploring this beautiful city. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its staff. Everyone provided warm, professional, and attentive service. Special thanks go to Milena at reception, who assisted us with every request, and to Natalie in the dining room, whose friendliness and graciousness made each day a pleasure.
While the rooms and suites are individually designed and full of character, the hotel could pay more attention to the lack of storage space, particularly for guests staying longer. Our room, the Freud Suite, was also quite dark and would benefit from improved lighting.
This is one of thr best boutique hotels we have ever stayed on. The staff is so friendly. And the breakfast is absolutely worth the whole thing!!
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Altstadt Vienna and would highly recommend it.
From the moment we arrived, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the two ladies on reception, who were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. The hotel’s quirky and stylish décor creates a unique atmosphere, and the daily offering of fresh fruit and a complimentary glass of Prosecco was a lovely touch.
The staff provided excellent information about Vienna, including transportation options and local recommendations, making it easy to explore the city. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and elegantly furnished, complete with stunning large chandeliers that added a touch of luxury.
The location is perfect, with many excellent restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance. Breakfast was served in beautiful surroundings, and enjoying the classical music in the lounge while choosing from the extensive breakfast selection was a delightful way to start the day.
One of our favourite features was the daily 4 p.m. cake service, with delicious homemade cakes, jars of sweets, and complimentary tea and coffee. We were especially touched when the hotel reserved a lovely breakfast table on our final morning to celebrate my daughter’s birthday.
Additional highlights included the rooftop garden, fitness room, and the thoughtful farewell gift of traditional Viennese wafers for each guest.
Every detail made our stay special, and we will definitely return on our next visit to Vienna.
Accueil du grande gentillesse et efficacité
Très bons conseils de restaurants
Et vélos à disposition
Bravo à l équipe
Frühstück
Nettes Personal
Parkgarage zu weit entfernt, eiskaltes Zimmer, nur 1 Badehandtuch für 2 Personen, sehr in die Jahre gekommenes Hotel. Dafür definitiv zu hochpreisig.
Charming stall, friendly and beautifully dressed. The internal decoration is fabulous, must be seen.
Very spacious, corridors, rooms, so much to discover, e.g. all contemporary art all over!
Just a final detail, excellent bed and an ultralight cover!!
I just loved it, it made be feel joyful and positive.
Everything about this small boutique hotel was a delight from the staff, to the breakfast that was delicious and varied, the leaf tea of my choice, the afternoon tea, interesting art everywhere. Decor fabulous... our room truly exceptional. We didn't want to leave!
Pretty much the only thing that could be improved. We were not told that the last of our 4 days would be a Public Holiday and ALL shops were closed - it just happened to be the day we planned to shop :-(. Would have liked to know this from the start as it would have influenced our itinerary. We missed out on shopping entirely.
I absolutely loved the breakfast experience! The buffet was excellent, and I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of having a different egg speciality every single day — it made each morning feel a bit special. The breakfast rooms themselves are wonderfully intimate and welcoming, with a cosy, home-like atmosphere that makes you want to linger a little longer.
Of course, being in Vienna, the coffee was nothing short of perfect. But what truly stood out to me was the incredible attention to detail — especially the dedicated gluten-free table, complete with its own toaster. That level of care is rare and so appreciated!
Above all, the staff made the biggest impression: genuinely warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. It really elevated the entire experience.
I can't think of anything it a clear 10/10
If you're looking for a hotel that gives you value for your money during your stay in Vienna, look no further than Hotel Altstadt Vienna. Not only do the staff go out of their way to make each guest feel special (giving them a tour and prosecco at check-in and luxury chocolate at check out), but their amenities are superb as well. My favorite aspects of the experience were the delicious breakfasts included in the room price (with freshly squeezed orange juice!), the unique character and design of each guest room, and the serene roof top terrace. We are most definitely returning to this hotel when we visit Vienna again!
The staff were welcoming, friendly, and made every guest feel special. Each guest room was unique, giving each stay a slightly different flavor. Last but certainly not least, the breakfasts were phenomenal from the fresh-pressed orange juice to the made to order omelets.
My main issue was with the faucet in our room. It was difficult to properly turn off and I even hurt my hand once or twice trying to get the knob in the off position.
Loved this hotel. A true boutique experience in a lively neighborhood that was convenient but not too touristy. The breakfast and tea time were amazing— a real treat.
Merci!
