I booked a week here with my mam and son as I had been to this hotel few years ago and was spot on. This time round has been different, when we arrived we was made to wait 3 hours for our room to be finished no mention of this when booking with tui, apparently according to the rep here it’s standard procedure with most hotels in Spain (never have I waited before and was in Salou in may) after getting to our room what we waited 3 hours for the toilet was mucky, and the sofa bed had all stains all over it. They also put us on 10th floor which we wasn’t too bothered about until the lift situation unfolded! The lifts are that slow and busy it’s virtually impossible to get a lift at breakfast and dinner, most nights we had to walk the stairs, my mother nearly 70 it’s horrendous. If you want a sunbed be prepared to que from 8 till 9 to get one, I also find it wrong how around the little pool what’s for kids is mostly older people with no kids taking the sun loungers. The food is very basic, not much choice, you can always find something to eat but it’s definitely not a good buffet. The hotel is very under staffed, it’s a shame because the location is brilliant, but I’d definitely look at choosing an alternative accommodation before coming back here.

La ubicación

Booked a week at the Rio Park at the beginning of June with our 3 year old granddaughter as I knew of this hotels reputation. I was looking for something that was good value for money and was close to all the main attractions of Benidorm. This hotel definitely fit that criteria.
Our room was lovely & clean but was a bit on the small side when the sofa bed was put down but we managed as it was only down when we were sleeping.
The hotel was a 10 minute walk down to the beach and probably the same to the old town. It was pointless going down to the new town as nowhere would let you in with children which was a bit different to when I came with my young son 22 years ago.
The pool area was always really busy but no need to queue up for sunbeds at silly o’clock in the morning. There was always a sunbed to be had but you just couldn’t get a parasol which was fine by us as we wanted to be positioned close to the pool so we could keep an eye on our granddaughter.
The animation team worked really hard throughout the day running competitions to keep everyone busy but you never felt pressured to join in. They continued to keep people happy during the evening entertainment which was always really good so we never had to leave the hotel at nighttime.
The main downside to the hotel was the food. We could always find something to eat but it wasn’t always great. The other downside was the lifts. At mealtimes you could be standing waiting quite a long time. We were not able to use the stairs to walk up to our room as we were on the 9th floor with a 3 year old but we did walk down a few times.
If you asked me would I stay at this hotel again the answer would probably be yes due to the location, the entertainment and the pool area. Overall a great first holiday with our granddaughter

Stayed in September last year, had a week starting 19th June. A couple in our 60s but really enjoy a good time and this Hotel ticks all the boxes. wasn't waiting to long at check-in and room was ready...8th floor pool view, all good. Now the Lifts are a bit of a pain always busy, a lot of moans from people but just chill out your on holiday. Room basic, clean & tidy no problems. Shower all good with Dove shampoo / bodywash. Half Board, food was fine, always find something, plenty of choice. Sunbeds a bit hit & miss but never bothered until Mid afternoon. Pool was warm...the weather was very hot. Evening entertainment was pretty good ( the Greatest showman show was fantastic ) and the late sports bar was a bonus...a good sing along. So thank you Rio Park,had a lovely time, staff first class..especially our maid. Value for money break.

Sinceramente poca cosa pero hay que decir que voy a hacer una crítica constructiva.
El personal muy jovencitos todos y con poca experiencia lo cual repercute en el trato a los clientes , nos registramos y la única explicación fue este es el código wifi, estos son los horarios de comida NADA MAS ...
Respecto a las piscinas bueno bueno y bueno suciedad por todos los lados NADIE DEL SERVICIO DEL BAR recogía absolutamente nada de TODA la zona común de piscinas, vasos, platos con comida por todas las tumbonas, botellines, papeles, helados derretidos por casi todos los sitios.... Una marranada una pésima imagen y un descontrol que jamás he visto allí nadie encargado de poner normas ni encargados de hacer cumplir las normas, increíble, en ningún sitio vi que pusiera PROHIBIDO ACCEDER AL RECINTO CON COMIDAS , VASOS DE CRISTAL, CUBIERTOS... NISIQUIRA PROHIBIDO FUMAR . Allí es como una pequeña República independiente cada uno hace lo que le da la gana.
No me gustó nada , en ningún momento me sentí como una CLIENTA,
