Rooms were small. Halls were being painted so we were wakened very early both mornings with workmen outside our door being very loud and banging doors with no consideration for guests.

Rooms were a little small, but to be expected in a property of this age.

Unfortunately, my stay did not meet the standard I expected, particularly regarding cleanliness and comfort.
Cleanliness: The shower cubicle was dirty and the drain was partially blocked, causing water to accumulate while I was showering. It was unpleasant having to stand in the dirty water. The carpet, particularly underneath the bed, had not been cleaned properly and there was visible dust, cobwebs, and dirt behind the curtains and around the radiator. As someone who owns a cleaning business, I pay close attention to cleanliness and I was disappointed by the standard presented. I was genuinely taken aback when I went to close the curtains and saw the amount of dust and cobwebs in that area.
Air Conditioning: It would be very helpful if guests were provided with a simple guide or manual explaining how to operate the air conditioning. In my case, the system appeared to be centrally controlled and I was unable to turn it off. After a long day, all I wanted was to get some rest, but I ended up spending almost three hours trying to resolve the issue by searching online and even using ChatGPT to find instructions. I initially called the property’s reception without success, then sent a WhatsApp message (including photos) to the number provided for help. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive a response until later in the night (seeing this the following day), by which time I had already fallen asleep.
I had no choice but to sleep with the cold air conditioning running. I ended up sleeping in my work clothes (suit) and using a towel as an extra layer because the bedding alone wasn’t warm enough. It made for a very uncomfortable night.
A couple of additional suggestions would be to provide disposable slippers for guests and to ensure that deep cleaning especially behind furniture, curtains and radiators, is carried out more thoroughly. These small improvements would make a significant difference to the overall guest experience. It’s a lovely place, would love to return soon

The only thing I would change is the mirror was in the wrong place in the room
