Pros:

Location and parking

Cons:

Carpets were not deep cleaned - possibly pets in the room before . Developed Allergic reaction. Sink in the bathroom was cracked . Mould behind sink.

Very poor and not particularly pleasant.
Pros:

The lady on reception was very friendly and tried to help

Cons:

The first room had issues so got moved. The 2nd room had what I thought was minor issues until late a night when I shut the bathroom door and found finger print smears of what comes out your bottom over the door!!! The doors to rooms are not soft close so there were bangs all night! The bar was lovely but the prices were way over the top.

Fantastic staff. Bar and restaurant was another level of goodness but the room was absolutely horrendous

Cons:

The room. The lock didn't work properly, lots of dirt, the was tissue stuck in a hole in the roof, I'm guessing to stop a leak

Only stay here when it is cool or winter......
Pros:

The only acceptable thing was the breakfast, although it did not start till 7 am on a weekday, which was unusual.

The location was nice, on the outskirts of the city.

Cons:

3 things -
1 - Hottest day of the year to be told Aircon is broken on arrival, but there is a fan in your room.... fan did nothing, got to 1 am and ended up sleeping in my car as it had aircon. Paid over £100 to sleep in my car.
2 - In-house restaurant choices were very limited and expensive, so I went out to eat in an air-conditioned location
3 - Being called by the hotel to try and secure my reservation with payment over the phone, which I did not do, but I feel now it was a ploy telling me they were fully booked, when in fact they were losing bookings because of the lack of air conditioning, but this I can not confirm or deny but the hotel was not full at all, if I had know the aircon was broken I would have also cancelled and gone elsewhere.

Friendly, relaxing, comfortable sleep.
Pros:

Great location for the racecourse, spacious rooms, the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on in a hotel, lovely staff, excellent breakfast. We didn’t eat in the brasserie though the menu sounded delicious. A lovely terrace to enjoy the breeze when the temperature had cooled off. Free parking. Value for money for our needs.

Cons:

There is little not to like. If you have high expectations, you may find a few minor niggles. There is an obsolete air con system, we stayed during the recent heatwave and were provided with a powerful fan, this wasn’t a deal breaker. There were minor marks and flaws on walls and the carpet. However, it was exceptionally clean.
We were staying overnight with an evening arrival and early start the next morning. So for us, it suited our needs perfectly.

Better than expected
Pros:

We were not sure of what we were going to get because of the reviews but all in all it was a good 2 night stay.
It was very hot both days but we were expecting that they may not be Aircon.
There was a fan in the room and we packed another in the car just in case.
The rooms are a bit tired but you can see they are actively being upgraded. Ours was very clean and the accessories were decent quality. Housekeeping and front of ouse were as good as many 4 star hotels. So was pleased with our stay and felt welcomed.
We ate in the bar resteraunt... The service was a bit hit and miss but the young staff were entertaining and tried hard.... Just lacking in experience but the food was well cooked and nicely presented.
The overall experience was good enough for us to use it again.

Cons:

The lack of Aircon fans are not that good but temperature was unusual

Location was ideal. Parking was free and sufficient.

Cons:

Hotel and restaurant seemed to be separate entities..Restaurant was quite expensive for this type of basic hotel. The breakfast that was included was just continental, you could order hot food at extra cost. Our bathroom door was really difficult to close.
No air-conditioning even though it was there we had a noisy fan and it was hot weather.

It was really poor, I wouldn’t go again, I won’t use booking.com again. Not value for money.

The staff were very friendly.

Cons:

We weren't given the room we thought we were getting, there was an air con unit in the room-it had broken... Fans were supplied though... But the biggest negative I have is the amount we were charged for food in the restaurant.!!! At lunch time.
For the amount we were charged, you'd expect to have a full tummy...

Dat er 'n ventilator in de kamer stond en het beeld was lekker groot.

Cons:

Dat de receptionist zei dat er nog niet was betaald voor de boeking terwijl wij het bewijs hebben dat het wél is betaald. Dit is 'n zakelijk probleem tussen Booking en het hotel. We hebben nógmaals moeten betalen om daar te kunnen verblijven. We hebben nog steeds geen antwoord van Booking ontvangen.

May have been fine if not in a heatwave.
Pros:

It had a mini fridge where I could chill water overnight. There was a fan in the room that I didn’t need to ask for.

Cons:

All the towels were stained - I believe they were all clean, but they all had old stains on them. The room was incredibly hot and the air conditioning didn’t work. The room was very long, so opening the windows at the far end created a small pocket of fresh air in the bay window but it didn’t make it into the room very far. The bathroom heater was on, I ceasing the heat of the room. The shower temperature was lukewarm at its hottest, and there was no handheld shower head, only a fixed overhead one. The mattress topper soft and made of polyester so you sank into it and it actively heated your body.
A very restless night in the heat and little that could be done about it.

Lovely hotel, staff all very helpful, food amazing. Would stay here again.
Pros:

Very clean. Comfortable beds, lovely powerful shower, nice areas to sit outside or inside.

Cons:

Our bathroom walls were a bit worn looking, but the furnishings were pretty new, so not a huge complaint and I think they’re in middle of upgrading so I’m sure this won’t be a permanent thing.
