Solid stay
Pros:

Lovely location (has its own bus stop) with a view on top of a hill (hence the name), and very polite staff. Kettle & coffee filled up every day which was nice.

Cons:

The hotel is quite old, and since Edinburgh was experiencing a heatwave, the room was stuffy and quite hot. The mattress seems quite old, and the pillows are thin. You could also hear all the neighbours, slamming their doors.

Ordered a cocktail and they couldn’t make it, so ordered a Chardonnay and received a red wine. Ordered a meal that never came. We waited for an hour before they realised

Great location & staff
Pros:

The staff were all very nice and super helpful. The location was great - fantastic view from the front of the hotel. Dinner was really good - the food was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Great communal spaces - relaxing and welcoming.

Cons:

Getting to our room was a bit of a trek when the function room was in use - up stairs, along corridors, through doors to then come back down the stair - very easy to get lost. Bathroom floor titles were loose/cracked and floor was sloped - not good for bare feet. Accessibility for wheelchairs was poor, our relative had to go out the front door and entry by the back carpark door to get to their room - not ideal, especially in bad weather.

Je moet niet veel verwachten
Pros:

Zeer vriendelijk personeel, locatie was op een rustige plek, bushalte in de buurt dus je bent zo bij de bus die je naar het centrum brengt.
Badkamer was schoon en de kamer ruim.
Wij werden gewekt door een vogel/meeuw of iets die op het raam kwam tikken, was leuk wakker worden.
Uitzicht is fenomenaal.

Cons:

Geen lift aanwezig. Wij zaten helemaal bovenin en achteraan. Mijn moeder is minder mobiel waardoor dit wel een dingetje was. Het was er ook erg warm. Denk dat ze ook nog eens synthetische beddengoed hebben wat je flink laat zweten.
Zeer verouderd materiaal. Wij hadden een stoel in de kamer met flinke vlekken op (alsof iemand was doorgelekt) Douche hoek kon niet dicht en het neppe leer brokkelt af van het hoofdbord van het bed en zo ook de stoelen in de ontbijtzaal. Erg jammer, want is een hotel wat juist veel potentie heeft. Als je je hier allemaal over heen kan zetten dan boeken.

At the doorstep of Edinburgh
Pros:

The location. It was perfect, 30 minutes from center of Edinburgh with bus no11 or 16. Staff was friendly and helpfull.

Cons:

The room we had was stifle and hot ( end of may). And the stairs to second floor challenging with 16 kg heavy suitcase
