Old world charm
The stay here was the best of our 3 week Scotland/England vacation. Starting with the welcome by the front desk staff, to riding in the 100+ year old Victorian elevator, and the beautiful room with a super comfortable bed and walk-in shower. The dinner in the dining room was delicious. Tea and biscuits in the lounge afterwards. Close free parking. It was everything we wanted. Plus a nice grocery store just across the street. Close to Loch Ness and other sites.
Weather was a little cold and grey, but hey - it's Scotland in May.
Charm- clean- amazingly friendly and helpful staff- location is amazing too
Nothing
The quiet environment. The breakfasts were very good and well organised.
We were not happy with the dining room service on the first evening, so much so that we explored other options in the town and ended up eating at a restaurant in town the following night.
Location and quality
Nothing
The atmosphere of the hotel and its location.
The evening meal was disappointing for one of us as the fish was dry and overcooked. The soup though, ordered as a starter was delicious.
The staff were helpful and friendly
The room was very dated. Single glazed windows meant people standing outside talking could be easily heard (above outdoor bar tables). Bathroom also dated. At the rate I paid at this standard of hotel,
All of the above
Poor internet connection
Clean room and newly renovated bathroom, stylish. A very good restaurant and great hospitality. The house was impressively old 1762 but in very good shape.
I didn’t have any problems but my wife said she missed a softer mattress pad and found the bed a little bit hard.
Nice building and good bar and restaurant rooms. Bedroom was a good size.
The mattress was soft and had probably seen better days.
Room was clean. It also had a guest laundry which was a major plus for us. The personnel were great and friendly. Would stay there again.
comfortable bed; good quality of beddings. Clean toilet and bath.
Ideally the curtains had a better blackout effect.
