Beautiful building in quiet setting

Very comfortable and lovely hotel and grounds
Staff were very polite and friendly
Absolutely stunning setting. Convenient for Stanmore station, just a 10 minute drive. Rooms comfortable, gardens beautiful and staff so accommodating. Perfect for a weekend in London. Oh and breakfast was fantastic. Great value
The driveway to the hotel was beautiful. surrounded by stunning rhododendrons, which made for a lovely first impression. The main hotel itself is very old but has been beautifully preserved, full of charm and character.
The Sullivan Suite was gorgeous and offered fabulous views of the lawns and surrounding woodland. There were also beautiful walks around the hotel grounds which we really enjoyed.
We had an evening meal on one of the nights and it didn't disappoint. Breakfast was plentiful throughout our stay, on Friday it was served from a menu, while at the weekend it was self service.
We were lucky to have beautiful weather during our stay so sitting outside enjoyed the surroundings was a pleasure. We would definitely stay at this hotel again and would happily recommend to others.
Overall fabulous.
The only downsides for us was that there were no lifts or air-conditioning.
Everything. Was there to watch bolton at Wembley all staff were excellent, friendly and looked like they all loved their job. Lovely location feels like you are in the countryside. Will be back again for sure.
Lovely location and very colourful and well maintained gardens
Bar food prices were perhaps a little on the expensive side although the food was very good.
Staff are brilliant it's a good location if your looking to be near Stanmore station. Went down for the play off final and its a superb hotel
Beautiful grounds - excellent service - go extra mile - very friendly

We absolutly loved wanadering the grounds and building, which was steeped in history.
Beautiful place and we had fun finding the gardens and lakes.
The bedoom was clean and cosy and we appreciated having a bath, tea facilties and biscuits on arrival.
The staff we felt we maybe tired, not particuarly welcoming.
They were not rude, but going to the reception, the bar and other areas, were not particulary friendly, or helpful. There was one lovely gentleman n the morning who was chatty and helpful and he kindly made me a cup of tea. But, many of the younger staff seemed unhappy.
I got up early the following morninig for a walk (breakfast time) and it was diffiicult to get into the main building in the morning? I walked aound the building 4 times and had to knock on a window and get the attention of a member of staff to get in, which was disappointing.
NOTHING !
This was undoubtedly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
The experience started badly with the front desk, where the staff member was rude and dismissive. Unfortunately, that was minor compared to the condition of the room.
I was given a key to a room in a separate building, which took around 10 minutes to find as the number wasn’t even listed outside. When I queried this, I was told, “Yeah, I don’t know why that is,” which set the tone.
When I entered the room, the smell was extremely unpleasant. The carpet looked as though someone had been sick on it, and the room was visibly dirty — it was clearly not fit to be let.
I returned to reception and asked for the manager. The receptionist was dismissive and simply shrugged. When the manager came to inspect the room, to be fair, he did seem shocked and apologised, stating it hadn’t been checked in a while.
However, I was told there were no other rooms available as the hotel was fully booked (which I found surprising), leaving me with no option but to leave at nearly 9pm and find alternative accommodation. As a solo female traveller, this was far from ideal, and rebooking at short notice cost me significantly more.
I later contacted the area manager, she responded that it was my choice not to stay and described the issue as a “coffee spill” that had been cleaned before the room was let. This response was disappointing and dismissive of the actual condition of the room, the skirting boards and bathroom were filthy.
I stay in hotels frequently for work, and while problems can happen anywhere, it’s how they’re handled that matters. The attitude both at the hotel and from senior management was unacceptable.
I am genuinely surprised this hotel has the rating it does.
Best Western you should do better.
