Good location - it was clean
We had a lot of luggage having returned from holiday and the room was very small. The light in the en-suite was motion controlled and did not pickup when you were in the shower - no hair dryer and the access was quite tight going up stairs and narrow passageways. There was only 1 towel each - no hand towel.
Espace et flexibilite de l`offre
Un peut bruyant
Close to Soho and easy to check in late (midnight)
The overall stay was not great. The room was dirty - bed sheets stained and smelt weird, the beds were like lumpy rocks and sounded like they could break any second, cramped room that was supposed to fit 3 of us yet we couldn't all stand at the same time as was so tiny, the bed didn't even fit in the room leaving a huge gap between the headboard and the bed so the pillows kept falling down, the ceiling fan sounded like it was going to fall off so had to sleep in the heat. Put on the 4th floor with only stairs available so was a mission going up and down with luggage. The Shower only gave cold water that came out in sprinkles and as a thin person I couldn't even fit in the shower to close the door as it was so small - not too sure who would even fit in there unless you're a twig thin 8 year old. Bugs and spiders around the room and kept crawling on us at night. Honestly a nightmare, I wish I took photos but left the second we could.
Clean and Great Location
Small and Noise from Busy Road
Great price and location. Clean and Tidy
Small room and noise from busy street
It's close to tourist attractions.
Rooms are dark, no toiletries, no cleaning,no lift, and one of the woman staff was so rude. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
I was able to book a last-minute stay for 2 rooms.
Very spartan accommodations, in a seedy neighborhood of Kings Cross with lots of drug users and trash around. I had to ask front desk for bath towels, as none were in my room. No one has air conditioning, so the Carlton can't be blamed for the exceptional heat. But, the rooms were not worth the $800 bill for one night.
Location was amazing for our needs, one night easy walk from Kings Cross and close to hop on hop off bus. Staff were very helpful and while the room was very basic it was clean and comfortable and met our needs.
Very convenient location, right outside st pancreas train station, very easy to navigate. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The area itself didn’t feel very safe, there were a group of crackheads always hanging outside the hotel. We found a cockroach in our room. The water pressure was very weak and the water wouldn’t stay one temperature. It was also really hot in the rooms and there is no ac and the ceiling fan does nothing.
Posizione ottima, tutto a portata di mano.
Clean, well-maintained, good staff
Room cramped, stuffy and hot. Overhead fan pretty useless. Opening window for ventilation a dangerous operation (heavy sash with no weights or friction to keep it from crashing down).
Not much to be honest.
We checked in and were made to walk down flights of states through hallways that we could hardly fit down. The room was dirty our fan didn’t work the light in the bathroom kept going on and off. I had to have my window down because the fan didn’t work and all I could hear was the room across from us with their window down screaming and partying all night.
Close to railway station
Everything else. Unfriendly staff, poor bathroom leaking and small. Extremely hot and mo air con. Very noisy.
Not recommended! Avoid!!!!!
The beds are not comfortable. During the night, you can feel bugs bite. Too hot, just like roasting in oven. Sweating for the whole night, even there has a fan but not cooling down the room temperature is still hot almost for the whole night because there just has a small window and you don't want to open it. if you do that a lot of flys will come into the room. Which is disgusting! If you are traveling along, if it is winter, and if you would like to do a fantastic location, and you don't mind all the above. Then go for it. Not recommended for family.
The bathroom is too tiny, and even though I am not tall and big, I still can not put my clothes on after the shower. It's hard to turn around. The most ridiculous is that the nights and fan in the tiny toilet that all are motion detected. What does it mean that you won't have the lighting on when you are in the middle of the shower. Then, a few minutes later, you started the shower, and while you were washing your body and while you were naked, you needed to keep waving your hand in the air to make the lighting on. And you will feel scared waving hand or moving your body in the dark and tiny space. You can't find any button to turn on the lights outside or inside the toilet. That was the first time I paid for something like that while I was traveling somewhere else in the UK. Besides, I got confirmation from the hotel that I was entitled to check out late at 1300, then the reception sent a woman to knock the door at around 1200pm+ and said U was late for an hour to check out. She even couldn't even speak English and hard to understand what she wanted to express. Then, another guy knocked on my door regarding the same matter, and I showed that guy that I got the confirmation from the hotel on 19/7 when I booked the room. Extremely unsatisfied by the service they provided from the reception at the 1st day we arrived and till the last minute we left!
