Hotel Vibra Marco Polo I - Adults only

Absolutely disgraceful treatment from security at Marco Polo I.

At around 3am, an older security guard decided that two young guests should be thrown out of the hotel in the middle of the night, in a foreign country, with roughly 30 minutes to pack up and leave.

The reason? He had apparently been looking through our ground-floor window in the dark and spotted a nitrous canister.

I wasn’t partying. I wasn’t causing trouble. I wasn’t even with my friend — he was at a club. I had literally just got out of the shower, was getting ready for bed, and suddenly I was being aggressively told to pack my belongings and get out.

No warning. No reasonable conversation. No concern whatsoever about where two young guests were supposed to go at 3am.

The irony was unbelievable. There were parties happening throughout the hotel and you could hear the unmistakable sound of nitrous being used elsewhere as you walked past rooms. Yet apparently spotting one canister through our window was enough for this man to act like he’d uncovered an international crime ring.

His attitude was appalling — aggressive, smug and completely lacking in basic hospitality or common sense. He seemed far more interested in exercising his tiny bit of authority than actually dealing with the situation like a normal human being.

Thankfully, I have a friend who works in security high up on the island and is extremely well connected, so we weren’t left completely stranded. Not every tourist has that luxury. Someone else could genuinely have been left walking around at 3am with their luggage and nowhere safe to stay.

Perhaps he should spend less time peering through guests’ windows looking for reasons to throw people out and more time learning how to speak to paying guests with some basic respect.

Couldn’t really fault it

Room was right on reception which was very loud with guests entering the property 24/7. Woken up by noise every night between 12-6am continuous loud noises.

La habitación llegamos y estaba sucia, nunca la dejaban bien limpia, la terraza ni se molestaron en limpiarla, los vasos del baño sucios, las almohadas olía a sudor , el buffet del desayuno no estaba mal. Las camas no eran cómodas , no volveremos

Noise between the walls

Le bruit : les portes des chambres sont mal insonorisées. Les résidents "jeunes" font du bruit jour et nuit dans les chambres et les couloirs. (Ils hurlent, crient et cours dans les couloirs) C'est sans compter ceux qui se défoncent sur les balcons sans se cacher. La musique de la piscine à fond de 11:00 à 18:00. Si vous voulez vous reposer je vous déconseille cet hôtel.
