No repetiría.
Absolutely shocking experience from start to finish.
The food was extremely disappointing. The same meals were served every day, and most of the food was barely even warm. On one occasion, I sat down and noticed that the meat was still pink and clearly undercooked. I immediately brought this to a member of staff's attention, who took it straight to the kitchen to inform the head chef.
Serving raw or undercooked food to guests is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food safety standards.
Upon arrival at the hotel, our room was not ready despite arriving at 11am. We were also unable to access the Wi-Fi until we had been assigned a room number, which was very inconvenient.
The location was equally disappointing. There is a half-built hotel next door that appears to be occupied by homeless individuals, which did not create a particularly unsafe or unwelcoming atmosphere. In addition, the surrounding houses to the left of the property gave a poor first impression when we first arrived by coach.
Overall, this was a very disappointing stay.
Between the poor food quality, lack of organisation, and unattractive surroundings, I would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to others.
This is not a 5 star resort, nor does it claim to be! It has exceeded expectations after reading the torrent of negative reviews and we would really recommend; as long you’re willing to embrace a solid 3 star Spanish experience.
Pros:
Excellent room - really modern, spacious and immaculately clean. We had a pool view room on the third floor which ticked all the boxes. Comfy beds, coffee machine, fridge and loads of storage. The room was cleaned each day and staff were courteous and kind.
The WiFi was great and reached all areas of the hotel.
Pool area is large and with it not being the height of the season, we had plenty of choice for loungers etc. The pool is cold as you would expect, but really refreshing once in.
The little shop was well stocked and although pricer than the local Lidl, this is what you’d expect!
The all inclusive drinks were excellent and good quality. San Miguel beer, branded spirits and varied cocktails “of the day”. I really liked the Bailey’s coffee.
Food was fine! Lunch being our favourite of the day. It’s obviously not Michelin, but there was always something and we probably put on a few pounds! I would agree that some of the dishes were luke warm, but there are microwaves if this is something that irks you. You could get sandwiches and other snacks during the day and we liked the nachos and hot dogs.
A taxi into Teguise was €5 and we walked back in around 20 mins. It was a bit of a ghost town, but I’m sure would liven up during the height of the season.
I really liked that there were lots of different nationalities staying at the hotel so you didn’t just feel like brits abroad having it large!
I honestly can’t think of any major cons, it was just a lovely and well needed break. The entertainment wasn’t to our taste, but we did have a chuckle at be guy dressed as Elsa in 6 inch stilettos!
Overall, for the absolute bargain price we paid, you can’t go wrong!
Be careful with the windy weather - my partner got quite lobsteresque!
Also, 11 mins from the airport so no annoying transfers!
Hotel is very clean. Our room was spotless on arrival. Checked in early as room was ready. Pool is beautiful and kept well. Location wise it’s only 4 mins taxi to town where there are plenty of restaurants. Food needs serious improvement. Very little to chose from maybe 2-3 main dishes. And it’s bland . Not impressed at all. It really lets the hotel down. My advice is to eat out in Costa teguise town, cheap and plenty of choice. You can also rent a car down there to explore the island which we did as it was cloudy 2 days. Plenty of sunbeds but not comfortable my back is sore. Entertainment is quiet at the moment as it’s out of season. So it’s in the bar usually bingo or karaoke. In summer the theatre is open. Drinks are nice enough , but can’t chose your own cocktail on all inclusive it’s only cocktail of the day or you pay!! Wouldn’t come back.
Right. I have thought a lot about how best to review this hotel. Like most people, we read a lot of the reviews and really did not know what to think. We decided to go in with an open mind, and focus on having a fun family holiday in the May half term. It turns out that this hotel is absolutely perfect for what we required!
'We' are two adults and two kids under 10. We have been to Lanzarote before, and have stayed in a variety of hotels in the 4-5 star bracket. We just wanted somewhere where the kids could play safely and have fun; and we could relax a bit, enjoy the sun and some eat nice food. We were not expecting 5 star luxury for the price we paid.
This is one of the cleanest hotels we have every stayed in. The buildings are showing a bit of age, but the place is spotless and obviously looked after very carefully by the staff. The play area around the side of the hotel is pretty worn out, as are the pool tables and mini golf course, but the pools are in very good condition. We booked a themed family room, which was a great size and layout, and the kids loved the volcanic bunkbeds. It had a massive balcony and you could see the sea. The beds were comfy and the bathroom well laid out. The air-conditioning was not the most powerful, but we were not uncomfortable at night. We would recommend keeping the black-out curtain drawn during the day, as the rooms get a lot of sun.
The hotel bars and restaurant were clean and well laid out, and the hotel shop was very useful.
The pools were absolutely perfect for our kids (4 & 7). Both the main pool and slide pool have a nice gentle incline, so it was safe to let the kids play without us standing over them. The slides were well maintained and just the right size for the kids to use.
The lifeguard was active but friendly, and was only interested in keeping people safe, not spoiling their fun. He was very kind to our oldest, who was a bit nervous around the bigger slide which was lovely.
The sunbed policy seemed pretty sensible, as they are chained up until about 10:00 to stop the usual 5am towel scramble. People being people, there was a bit of putting out tables and hanging around in the prime spots, but this didn't start until after 9am and never seemed to prevent anyone getting a space where they wanted to be. We did bring our own towels, so I can't comment on the towel deposit system.
The only real gripe we have with this hotel, is they do not supply sun umbrella's. This is due to wind, apparently, but I am unconvinced. There is very little shade, particularly around the kids pools, so some sort solution would be a great benefit. We also thought the sunbathing area to be a bit of a waste of space, but maybe it gets more use at other times of the year.
We had an all inclusive package, so dined at the restaurant 3 times a day, and made frequent use of both the main bar and pool bar. The beer is good, and they have a 'Cocktail of the day' which my wife generally approved of. The bar staff are very helpful and had no problem creating basic spirit and mixer drinks on the days were the cocktail was not a favourite. Our oldest loved the slushy machines, and our youngest the pots of ice cream, available all day every day at the pool bar. The pool bar also provides fruit and sandwich bits from 11:00, and basic cooked food (chips, hotdogs etc.) from 15:00. We found the 1 euro deposit for cups to be a very minor inconvenience, that kept the pool area really clean and tidy.
Now to the hot topic; the food. We were very happy with it. If you go expecting to have exactly the same food as at home, you will be disappointed, and the selection is not massive. That said, we found the quality and variety to be brilliant. The food was hot, plentiful and tasty. There was something different everyday (but there were always chips), and the grilled pork cutlets we had one lunchtime were some of the best hotel food we have ever had. The puddings were good, and they regularly has a 'Mr Whippy' machine running which made the kids very happy (and caused all sorts of mess!) Wine, beer, fruit juices and soft drinks are available at all meals, and coffee and tea at breakfast.
The evening entertainment was limited but fun. As we have young kids, it was not our focus, but we did go down for a couple of evenings and enjoyed the bingo and karaoke (up to a point!)
The location is close to the airport (so nice quick transfers), and easy walking distance from Costa Teguise and the beach. We walked into town once, but it wasn't really our cup of tea, and the hotel was perfect for our needs.
All in all, if you are after a nice family holiday at a good price, you will not go wrong with the BLUESEA Costa Bastian! We will definitely be coming back.
It was relaxed and friendly
Nothing
Room appeared clean until we noticed a swarm of what looked like tiny ants all over sideboard kettle.and cups. Spoke to reception and was given a can of insect spray which never helped and I had my six year old daughter with me breathing this spray in and scared to sleep. Air conditioning never worked. Buffet was very limited. Most drinks at bar have a charge for all inclusive.
Nulla
Great Hotel, Amazing bang for your buck. We only stayed for 4 nights but I’m definitely thinking of coming back for 7/8 next year so we can explore the island a bit.
Quality of the food was good, there was lots of option and the hot foods rotated every day. Especially Italian night with the free Cava (champagne).
Drinks were good, the all inclusive was any spirits, beer or wine, soft drinks and slushies. This was mainly local Spanish drinks that I found to be quite nice and smooth, definitely getting some for home lol!
Entertainment was good, Mini golf, archery, air rifle shooting, all free to play (just a small but fair deposit to use the equipment so take some euros with you). I’m not sure of his name, but one of the workers but an incredible amount of effort in for the kids, dressing up as SpongeBob and Elsa to get them having fun!!
Cleanliness was okay, we did have a slight drainage smell from the toilet on the first day but we reported this and by the time we got back from the pool the cleaners not only fixed it but also tided our whole room and took our empty glasses etc away
Pool was a good size so you had lots of room to swim, I would assume it’s freshwater as there was no awful chlorine smell or burn in your eyes. It was a bit cold at first but you warm up to it.
Location was decent, anywhere you wanted to go you could ask reception for a taxi and in matter of minutes it’s outside; €5-6 euro to get to the local town or a 25 minute walk. There was also a market at the weekend you could join the coach to go to.
Overall, really really pleased. As an insider tip; we booked through Booking.com and got 10% off and a free taxi from the airport. Our stay was around £86 per night which was cheaper than booking a room-only in a hotel next door! Even if you don’t want to use the all inclusive I would still book this and explore the restaurants in the local town!
Me encanto la amabilida y atencion del personal
we love it- looking to come every year
