Excellent!
Pros:

Excellent in all respects! Fantastic location and beautiful gardens providing a very relaxing atmosphere. Staff is very friendly, well trained and respond quickly to requests. The buildings and gardens have a two-hundred-year history which enriches your stay. We would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back!

Amazing place to experience

The place is just amazing in the middle of an amazing botanical garden ; if you want a relaxing and classy experience come here one of the best in Madeire

Wonderful stay in a beautiful historic family setting, spoiled by wonderful personnel
Pros:

We had a truly lovely stay at Casa Velha do Palheiro. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout our visit. The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building, full of character, with a fascinating family history and surrounded by gorgeous gardens.

The views from the Golf Club were fantastic, and the food at the restaurant recommended by Michela was absolutely delicious. The breakfast buffet was also wonderful, with plenty of choice (eg exotic fresh fruits selection) and a very pleasant atmosphere.

Overall, it was a charming and memorable stay. We would love to come back.

Elegance nature and amazing staff
Pros:

All staff were exceptionally friendly and caring. They went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of.

Déception pour un établissement « relais et château « de tel standing.
Cons:

Je n’ai pas apprécié d’avoir un tel déphasage de prix en moins d’une semaine pour la même réservation. Ma demande de préparation d’un PdJ en sac car départ très tôt n’a pas été réalisé malgré la confirmation de l’hôtel! Certes il y avait des sacs mais pour d’autres personnes !Le ménage de la chambre pas réalisé avant 14h. Et plusieurs détails qui n’en sont pas pour un Relais et château: pas de coton tige,1 peignoir sans ceinture et taché à une manche. J’ai fait des relais et château en France bien. Et pas un membre du personnel parlant français ! Le sentiment que la clientèle anglaise était mieux traitée.
Résultat : malgré mon mécontentement pas de geste commercial !
Un conseil : réservez le jour même de votre depart vous paierez bien moins cher.

Bon séjour, mais déçu quelque peu en comparaison avec d’autres établissements du même standing.
Pros:

Bon petit-déjeuner. Belle chambre. Localisation au calme, tranquillité des lieux.

Cons:

Le personnel est accueillant et attentif.
Cependant, certains membres du staff manquent de professionnalisme, surtout pour un établissement 5 étoiles (et pour un Relais & Chateaux)

Outstanding hotel. Worthy of its 5* status.
Beautiful, stylish hotel with stunning gardens plus access to the Palheiro gardens.
Staff are exceptional and nothing is too much trouble.
Rooms are tastefully decorated and of a very high standard. Lovely touch in the room was the Madeira wine and local cake.
Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. Dinner is out of this world. The creativity and quality is sublime using local produce. Michelin star quality.
Lovely pool area with sun loungers.
Spa was great and offered many different treatments. Worth a visit.
Highly recommend Casa Velha for a peaceful, tranquil holiday to reset yourself.
I am looking forward to a third visit soon.
