Ihana, viehättävä ja laadukas hotelli, jossa on aito autenttinen italialainen tunnelma!
Pros:

Sijainti oli kerrassaan upea. Saimme ihanan yksityisen huoneen. Aamiaisravintola oli aivan ensiluokkaisen hienolla paikalla. Aamiaisen kaikki raaka-aineet olivat tuoreita ja laadukkaita. Henkilökunta oli myös aivan todella ystävällistä.

Cons:

Ei ollut mitään mistä emme olisi pitäneet - viihdyimme erinomaisesti. Jäimme kuitenkin ehkä hieman ihmettelemään sitä, että omassa huoneessa oli erittäin tiukasti kiellettyä syödä yhtään mitään. Ehkä joku on joskus jättänyt jälkeensä pahoja sotkuja ja johtuu siitä, ja on toki ymmärrettävää, mutta harmillista, että vaikuttaa kaikkien vieraiden tilanteeseen.

De kwaliteit van de bedden, de schimmel in de badkamer, er mocht niet gegeten worden in de kamer, maar er werd alleen eten voorzien in het hotel bij ontbijt en bij het avondeten (20u-22u).

Pros:

Ein außergewöhnlich schönes Hotel, wunderbare Lage, alles sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Sehr freundliches Personal und Gastgeber.
Die Terrasse zum Abendessen und Frühstück ist ein Traum.
Wie kommen sicher gerne wieder.

A lovely property in a great location that could be much more comfortable
Pros:

Beautiful property in the Tuscan Hills.

Cons:

Facilities need to be developed further. Rooms lack proper lighting and sufficient power outlets. Heavy light leakage during the night. No bar facilities with pool.

Personale molto gentile e attento.

Cons:

La colazione a mio parere non è in linea con un hotel 4 stelle. Molto essenziale e in generale scarsa.

Traumhaftes Ambiente - abseits gelegen auf einem hohen Hügel

Ich bin mit meinem Hund angereist und hatte eine separate Unterkunft (ein kleines Häuschen) außerhalb vom Hauptgebäude, was absolut traumhaft war (mit eigener Terrasse und Blick über die Hügellandschaft der Toskana), grundsätzlich ein wunderschönes Anwesen, tolles Ambiente, fantastischer Pool, grandiose Aussicht, tolles Frühstück,

Das Restaurant öffnet erst um 20 Uhr aber das muss man wohl in Italien akzeptieren; es führte nur eine sehr schmale Straße den Berg hoch zum Hotel und es gab keine Möglichkeit außerhalb vom Hotel spazieren zu gehen (außer die Straße rauf und runter, die sehr steil ist). Wenn man spazieren gehen, etwas essen oder besichtigen möchte, muss man zunächst 10-15 Minuten die schmale Straße wieder hinunter fahren.

Ligging, sfeer, uitzicht. Ontbijt prima.

Cons:

Restaurant was zeer beneden de maat: gerechten van matige kwaliteit. Saus uit een potje, gerechten in kleine porties. Veel te hoge prijzen. Een glas huiswijn voor 10euro!!!!!
Slechte service. Helaas kun je nergens in de buurt een ander restaurant vinden.

Pros:

De locatie is geweldig. Het is een oud klooster, waar de eigenaar de sfeer en de beleving van vroeger heel goed heeft weten te realiseren. In het zwembad kan je over de rand super genieten van het dal. Bed was goed. Ook kon de elektrische auto worden bijgeladen. Ook hebben we hier heerlijk gegeten.

Posizione bellissima. Una chicca.

Cons:

No bidet in camera, cena da turisti a prezzi di un buon ristorante. La vantata carta dei vini di produzione si è ridotta a Bianco o rosso? Per 30 euro a bottiglia vorrei qualcosa di più. La famosa degustazione di olio di produzione propria avremmo dovuto chiederla, non è arrivato nulla. Piscina bella, ma sdraio e accesso insufficiente per l'alta affluenza.

Villa Volpi is a charming Tuscan retreat with history, nature, peace, and authentic character.
Pros:

For me, this hotel was absolutely fine, this place is just different, but... as always, it really depends on what you expect from a hotel.

I personally really enjoyed Villa Volpi. You just have to remember that it is a renovated former monastery, so I don’t think it makes much sense to compare it with the standards of a modern, newly built hotel. The history and character of the place are actually what make it special.

Everything, the hotel itself and the surroundings feels a lot of good taste. Nothing feels forced or out of place.

What I enjoyed most, though, was the peace and quiet. Sleeping with the windows open and hearing nothing but the sounds of nature was something I really appreciated. In the evening, you have a beautiful view of Lucca lit up below, while at night there is almost complete silence and darkness.
And when they turn off the lights, you can actually see the stars… when was the last time you really saw the stars? For me, that is one of the things that makes this place special.

The lack of a typical English breakfast might be disappointing for some people, but I actually see it as a positive. This is not a place that needs to pretend to be something it isn’t. It feels Italian, Tuscan and authentic — and that’s exactly how it should be.
