The hotel was well located in the centre of the old town with great rooms. we chose a room with balcony which was spacious and comfortable. There is private parking, though it is limited and access is from the rear of the property. The hotel has great historical interest
We were able to walk out the front of the hotel onto a picturesque pedestrianised street.
Breakfast choices were a full breakfast - buffet style, or express breakfast (11 euros) which was mainly coffee/tea and toast and a pastry/croissant, which really was all we wanted
Couldn't really fault it. Maybe a little overpriced. They don't serve dinner.

What a beautiful hotel! I felt like I stepped back in time, but with modern conveniences. The rooms and beds were very comfortable - we loved our little covered terrace with table to take our morning coffee! Antonio was the best! He helped me park the van, then took our bags and gave me excellent recommendations for restaurants around town and also for our travels outside Santillana. The next morning his smile greeted us at breakfast and later served us the best gin and tonics!
I could have used specific driving instructions to find the parking area in the back - it was very difficult to find.

We liked the historical nature of the entire hotel. We liked the quaint common area rooms and garden seating area. The hotel rooms have been updated and modernized.
3 nights in a row the air conditioning would not work, so our room was hot (we did inform the front desk, and they told us it would work, but it did not)
The hotel does not have a restaurant (although it does offer breakfast and a bar).
The private parking, the garden, the very kind and helpful staff, the breakfast à la carte and the possibility to have occasional snacks, if hungry…
The hotel was a quiet oasis in the midst of the busy town of Santanilla Del Mar. It was wonderful to enter through the classic front door and be in the palatial setting. The garden was a big bonus!
It would have been nice to have more choices in the cafeteria.
Beautiful, luxurious hotel; warm staff; nice breakfast.
This is unrelated to the hotel, but Santilliana del Mar is completely overrun by tourists; it's like a fifteenth-century Disneyland. I suggest getting up early to tour the town before the tour buses arrive.
This was one of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed in over 60 years of travel. But most importantly for me was the graciousness of the host and hostesses, the smile on their faces and they’re willingness to be of help. There is no match to the human touch when there was a feeling of affection.
What I didn’t like was that I could not stay there two or three days more. If I return to Spain, God willing, I will not make this mistake again.
