Amadeus Hotel

Saturday night extremely loud DJ until 2:00am. Bathroom water leak that staff didn’t seem concerned about. Kitchen wasn’t open to make anything for breakfast. You had to pass through a storage room of hotel stuff to get to my room.

They have neglected this place for a very long time.
No recent investment was made in the rooms or hallways whatsoever.
It really felt like staying over in a student dorm; appliances were outdated, some facilities were broken but not replaced, permanent stains on the carpet, a continuous smell of drain and sewage in the room,...
But worst of all, I was woken up in the middle of the night by a mouse going for the food in my trashcan.

Keine Rezeption. Das Zimmer war extrem klein, Flecken auf dem Teppich und die Dusche war eine Katastrophe. Ich hatte schnell den verosteten Griff in der Hand. Nachts dann das Highlight, eine Maus war in meinem Zimmer und knabberte an meinen Sachen. Da es keine Rezeption gibt, war ein Zimmerwechsel in der Nacht nicht möglich. Morgens war nur das Restaurantpersonal da, was mit der Managerin sprechen musste. Ich habe dann später ein Zimmerupgrade und Wechsel bekommen. Keine Klärung oder Entschuldigung in irgendeiner Form. Ich hatte nicht das Gefühl, das etwas gegen das Problem unternommen wurde. Es wurde jedenfalls in keiner Form kommuniziert. Wer nicht mit Mäusen schlafen möchte, sollte sich eine andere Unterkunft suchen.

Comme nous sommes arrivés en voiture, nous avons un peu tourné autour de l’hôtel
Le petit déjeuner était prévu à 8h mais comme nous sommes partis à 7h nous n’avons pas déjeuné
On nous a pas proposé de nous donner quelque chose à emporter pour la route

Unfortunately it was to noisy due to town centre location, however was a beautiful view through the window

The rooms are quite run down.
If this had been summer it would have been really hot on the third floor. Even on the third floor I could hear the base of the music down below. It seemed like the hotel was a side business. You just check in at the bar. I would have loved to have a place to sit in a lobby on the rainy days.

Unknown to us it was King's day and hence a very busy day with an outside bar and DJ which meant that we were prevented from using the downstairs inside bar and restaurant to meet up in a quieter atmosphere.
Our main issue was security and safety around the first floor room. People who were not residents were accessing this area and using the staff toilets meaning that the room was unsuitable for a single person who felt extremely vulnerable. This room was right next to the fire door, which kept being left open even after it being notified to staff and closed. There was also furniture on the fire escape which made the fire exit dangerous.

These issues were raised with the hotel at the time and afterwards via this site. The issue continued throughout the evening.
While the email reply was apologetic and the issues were acknowledged and due to be investigated, I feel that there needs to be a big improvement in security and safety especially on very busy nights.
