Guest Reviews
Breakfast was superb, rooms are clean, staff are friendly and shower is decent
My only gripe is the breakfast window was early and pretty short but it's a small team working so that makes sense.
The room was spacious and scrupulously clean. Very pleasant staff. Excellent hot breakfast (the full English will fill you up until dinner). The hotel is located in a quiet residential area, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Ample parking, which is extremely welcome in residential neighborhoods.
The duvet was small for 2 people sharing a bed.
Fab location, really great staff, lovely room, really nice breakfast. Quite easy to find and ample parking. Would definitely stay again. Very comfortable room.
Can’t fault anything, interior looked a bit tired maybe in places but it didn’t affect our stay.
Very nice host and very good value for money. Comfy bed
Great stay, a good welcome at reception. Nice location too
The staff at the reception was friendly and welcoming and it was only a 10min taxi ride to where we were going. I'm sorry but those are the only positives I have.
It smelled very old and musty.
It was an old Victorian building which looked and felt like a hostel rather than a hotel. We're given the room at the top floor. It just felt old and dreary. There were cracks on the walls and the doors on one of the drawers were hanging off. It was nothing like the pictures on booking.com. We tried booking elsewhere but alot of the hotels nearby were booked up. Breakfast was included in the price but we didn't bother. Couldn't wait to leave as soon as it was daylight.
Comfortable bed and nice and quiet in good location
Atmospheric lounge area to relax in
Ely House exceeded my expectations and I was very impressed with the furnishings and decoration. I had 2 very good nights sleep and breakfasts were as good as I have had at larger hotels. I have already booked to come back.
Absolutely nothing.
The hotel was just right for an overnight stop. The room and facilities were spotlessly clean and parking easily available to the rear
We didn't need to go out in the evening to eat, but I think had we needed to, we would have struggled to find somewhere easily. We weren't tempted by the locality to try
Very comfortable mattresses on the beds, the beautiful building and the staff who were very professional, frisky and helpful going above and beyond to help us. Great location for the sports centre where our competition was taking place and lots of parking available. The manager even gifted us a couple of bottles of water to go to our competition. We will definitely book again.
The windows are not able to be opened which we understand, maybe a fan could be provided in each room as we were a bit warm at some points as it was the end of summer and although not boiling hot outside, still warm.
It would have been nice to be offered a second glass of juice at breakfast and maybe check if everything is ok after serving, as I didn’t have any butter and was unable to ask as staff returned to the kitchen.
Great location parking and friendly staff
