Pros:

Excellent boutique hotel in a vibrant and central part of Marseille; a very friendly and helpful owner who gave us a host of recommendations. Great bars, restaurants and nightlife, 10 minutes walk from the port. Very clean, comfortable beds, good shower.

Pros:

Un endroit au charme fou et improbable en plein centre de Marseille, et au calme malgré cela. Je suis marseillais et j’ai fréquenté ce quartier pendant plus de dix ans sans en soupçonner l’existence.
Le rapport qualité prix est imbattable, tout est à disposition (sans supplément), et le petit déjeuner qualitatif et copieux, …sans parler du charmant accueil .

An oasis of calm in a busy city

Everything was great. There was some noise off the street in the night, but that's normal if you're in the middle of Marseille!

Charming hotel with great staff but rooms and the building too tiny.
Pros:

The communication was great. Very helpful staff. We had to cancel our second stay due to changes in our plans and were approved for reimbursement by the hotel.

Cons:

Rooms are too small. We were a family of 4 in two connected rooms but did not have enough space. Shower/ toilet also super tiny. But the hotel is very charming.

Pros:

Une escale très relaxante en plein centre de Marseille. Le staff est très attentionné, la piscine aussi agréable à regarder qu'à savourer. Petite chambre mais plein de charme, le travail de décoration par le propriétaire est impressionnant. On reviendra, et on recommande chaudement.

Un Mas en Ville is a charming, unique property with fantastic amenities and great hospitality.
Pros:

Pool & Jacuzzi: The swimming pool area was fantastic and offered a wonderful sanctuary after a day of exploring. Having access to the jacuzzi was an extra bonus that made the stay feel extra special.

Breakfast: The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and provided a great start to the day.

The Rooms: Our room was lovely, comfortable, and full of character.

Cons:

The Uphill Walk: Walking back to the hotel from the city center requires going up a fairly steep hill, which can be tiring after a long day out.

No Elevator & Luggage Handling: The hotel has no elevator, meaning we had to manually carry our two 20 kg bags all the way up to the 3rd floor by hand when we arrived, and haul them back down again when checking out.

Un mas en ville is a serene escape from the otherwise urbanised area.
Pros:

This was a superb stay in the heart of Marsaille, with a delightful cool pool to retreat to from the busy city. The rooms are well considered with comfortable beds, hot showers and accessible hooks and hangers for your clothes. There is a generous provision of local juices and tea/coffee throughout the day. The breakfasts are tasteful, simple but substantial and highlight rustic french cuisine.

Cons:

I personally don’t like having smokers in the communal area, but I appreciate that this is much more acceptable on the continent. This hotel is also for all ages, however, this can feel awkward as the pool is quite small and young children did not always appreciate the need to be mindful of other guests.
