Room was comfortable and not too small. Reception bar/ lounge area very spacious light and airy. Staff at breakfast extremely helpful.
Certain aspects need upgrading. Carpet in dining room had a hole in it and joins were coming apart. Bathroom shower needed a deep clean as the grouting between tiles was not very clean. Also rust marks on glass door and bottom of fixing. Bar staff in evening could have been more friendly. Because the area is large and is tiled with not much soft furnishing, it’s extremely noisy. Staff threw empty bottles into waste bins making a lot of crashing. Windows all needed a good clean. Paths from car park area breaking up that could cause people to trip and hurt themselves.
Spacious rooms; good location for Glyndebourne; staff well-trained, pleasant and efficient; excellent breakfast
We have stayed here every year for the last 10 years booking the same type of room and this is the first time we have been given an attic room on level 3 with velux windows. That means we could only see the sky and no view of the countryside which is usual. The blinds need replacing as trashed by previous guests. For a 3-night stay this room was not appreciated.
The standard in the restaurant for dinner has fallen compared with previous years. The pork loin for the mains was stringy and sinewy, not like loin at all. The vegetables were undercooked so that you could not bite into them (beans and broccoli). My husband left his. However the smoked trout starter was good. The window frames in the bar area showed dead insects and cobwebs in the corners behind the net curtains. On the other hand our room was clean.
Great location bright airy clean
Rooms are allocated without telling me what facilities are available. I had only velux windows in my room so no view
Room was fairly large with large comfortable bed. Good selection for breakfast as always - our sixth stay at the Hotel.
The two chairs in the room could have been more comfortable!
Rooms/facilities/location
Tables in the bar are sticky from the the deterioration of the varnish by the cleaning chemicals-surface is nasty & sticky - could be rectified with rubbing down & not using varnish.
Everything at this hotel was wonderful! The warm welcome at the reception, the extravagant, spotless room with patio, the big pool, the spa, the changing areas, the gym! Truly a bliss. The aircon and pool are great during summer heatwaves and we were allowed to use the pool and wellness facilities during the day of checking out. Ample private parking. Definitely want to go back to this gem!
Location was close to where we wanted to be.
Clean and air conditioned.
It's a big complex and our room was 2 and a half minutes walk from reception. Edge of mattress was very soft. Couldn't get a tv station to watch the picture kept disappearing. There was a loss of water to the site. Not the hotels fault but couldn't shower before going out. No offer of any recompense.
The whole place
It’s location, reception staff member (Anna) very nice
Room not cleaned properly, lack of facilities for such a big hotel, communal areas could have been tidier (tables not cleared or wiped, Pavilion restaurant felt and looked like a work’s canteen
