Pros:

The hotel has a perfect location, just 9 minutes from the Rushmore National Monument.

Great location for Mt. Rushmore, but ok experience
Pros:

We liked the proximity to Mount Rushmore and the nearby restaurants within walking distance. Our room was ok, but noisy as it was over the front entrance and by an elevator. Had I known this, I would have requested a different room. We also liked the 3rd bed in a separate "room" for a little more privacy.

Cons:

The room was noisy as it overlooked the front entry, and you could hear every time the front door opened or noisy car pulled up. It was also next to the elevator and you could hear that every time it ran. The room was expensive for what it was, and the hotel was in need of some maintenance and refreshing. The room was very dark.

They wouldn’t rent to us as we had a cat.

They refused to rent to us since we had a cat even when I had messaged them multiple times that we had a cat. They waited until we arrived, after driving 7+ hours.

Ideal place to stay during a visit to Mt. Rushmore
Pros:

Location close to Mt. Rushmore and 1880 train station. Fresh baked cookies and coffee available in the lobby. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice breakfast provided for us.

Pros:

This hotel is old, tired and worn out. It is definitely in need of some love 💕. It appears making money is the goal, reinvesting in the property is not a priority. Bathroom fixtures are rusted and water doesn't turn off all the way and …Our double queen room was not big enough for 2 adults and 2 kids with luggage. We were always walking around stuff. Fyi . You can only enter/exit the beds on one side.

I didn't want to leave!
Pros:

Walking distance to all of the restaurants/bars/shops! Super soft and comfy bed and linens. Tasty coffee in the lobby with many yummy creamer options. Very friendly front desk and housekeeping staff. I didn't want to leave!

Great stay at Keystone.
Pros:

Great location for the Mt. Rushmore/Black Hills area, hotel is little dated but clean.
Pros:

Proximity was excellent, especially since it rained the night we were in Keystone.

Cons:

For the price, I wish both rooms had been ready at 5 PM when we checked in. The front desk person was nice and it wasn’t really his fault, just inconvenient for the hotel not to have both rooms ready.
