Perfect stopover when leaving Sumatra

Pros:

Schöne, geräumige Zimmer! Sauber und komfortabel. Zimmerservice war auch gut, aber das Essen war oft kalt und daher nicht so lecker.
Es dauerte auch ziemlich lange oder Dinge wurden vergessen. Kann man aber darüber hinweg schauen, denke es ist das beste Hotel in Medan :)

Nice staff, nice hotel
Pros:

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location close to mall.

Cons:

If you arrive on foot, there isn’t a proper entrance—you have to go around the building. After it rains, there are also unavoidable puddles of rainwater when you leave on foot.

The room itself was clean and nicely prepared. However, you do notice some unrepaired damage, such as bent vents and missing screw covers.
The electric kettle looked very old.

The staff was kind and helpful, the breakfast was pretty good and the overall design of the hotel was nice.

The rooms are spacious but feel a bit old. For the price i would expect it to be a bit nicer. There are newer hotels with nicer rooms for about half the price. It's small details like maintenance in the bathroom or the tv not having streaming. The room service menu seemed not that nice and quite expensive. It's not a bad hotel, it's just that it's about double the price of some other hotels, but not double the luxury of those hotels. Also why do i have to walk through a metal detector and send my bags through a scanner everytime I enter the hotel if you're not even gonna bother to check when it goes off.

Im Großen und Ganzen sehr gut

Sehr nettes Personal, helfen bei vielen Themen und beraten gerne auch wenn man etwas außerhalb muss, arrangieren die alles für einen und informieren sehr gut.

Ist sehr zentral, Riesen Mall neben dran und auch viele Restaurants.

Sehr sauber auch das Personal wo die Zimmer reinigt sehr zuverlässig.

Cons:

Ein weiterer großer Minuspunkt war der Lärm durch die Baustelle direkt im Hotel. Besonders morgens und am späten Nachmittag bzw. frühen Abend wurde teilweise laut gehämmert und gearbeitet – also genau zu Zeiten, in denen man sich vielleicht im Zimmer aufhalten und etwas Ruhe haben möchte. Unter solchen Bedingungen fällt es schwer, sich wirklich zu erholen.

Sehr ärgerlich war außerdem die Preisgestaltung. Am Ende wurde plötzlich von den ursprünglich in der App angezeigten Preisen abgewichen und mir mitgeteilt, dass die Preise für diese Tage inzwischen erhöht worden seien. Daraufhin erhielt ich einfach eine neue, höhere Rechnung. Ich habe den Betrag letztlich bezahlt, weil ich unter Zeitdruck stand und bereits zur nächsten Unterkunft weiterreisen musste. Trotzdem finde ich dieses Vorgehen alles andere als transparent und kundenfreundlich.

Der Mitarbeiter, der offenbar für Küche bzw. Restaurant zuständig war, war teilweise sehr aufdringlich und versuchte mehrfach, einen dazu zu bewegen, das All-you-can-eat-Angebot zu bezahlen und dort zu essen. Die Auswahl war allerdings eher begrenzt. Andere Gerichte konnte man zwar bestellen, musste darauf jedoch entsprechend warten und zusätzlich bzw. teilweise mehr bezahlen. Insgesamt fühlte sich das eher wie Verkaufsdruck als wie guter Service an.

Auch die Sicherheitskontrollen beim Betreten des Hotels waren auf Dauer ziemlich lästig. Jedes Mal musste man durch einen Kontrollbogen bzw. Metalldetektor gehen, persönliche Gegenstände in eine Box legen und durch den Scanner schicken. Selbst wenn man nur für wenige Minuten nach unten gegangen war, um beispielsweise eine Grab-Bestellung abzuholen, musste man anschließend wieder die komplette Kontrolle durchlaufen.

Sicherheitsmaßnahmen sind grundsätzlich verständlich, aber die konsequente Durchführung bei jedem noch so kurzen Verlassen des Hotels war für mich im Alltag unnötig umständlich und störend.
