The hotel was adequate.Breakfast was really good.Only complaint was that the elevator made it kind of in convenient if had more than a few bags staff was nice. The room was clean. What can you say
Do not stay here. Unless the hotel undergoes significant change in operations or remodeling or something you should not stay here. The cleanliness of the hotel is so poor that in my opinion makes it almost inhabitable. I was there for a family union there reports of bug in rooms, there is extreme amount ofdust to the point. where allergic reactions were happening. We had multiple family members to leave the hotel early during their stay. There was next to no housekeeping available, trash in hallways and entryways went unattended for the entirety of my stay and never saw housekeeping during my stay.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. At times, I could hear others in the hallway, but that's to be expected at a hotel. The air conditioning kept the room comfortable, which is necessary in the summer in North Charleston. Fresh Starbucks coffee was very much appreciated each morning, as well as the hot breakfast bar. I will certainly stay here again when I return to the area.
If you are looking for a high end Hyatt experience this is not your hotel. If you are looking for clean, comfortable and affordable this is your place. All of the staff was kind and accommodations were adequate. Would we stay here again as Hyatt Members, absolutely!!!!!
I recommend this hotel to anyone because the make you feel home. The staff are very friendly, lovely, welcoming and amazing.
Hotel smelled like marijuana and the cleanliness of the room wasn’t up to standard. The bed was not comfortable and felt like it was broken. I immediately sank into the bed as I laid in it.
The hotel was very nice! Parking lot had parking and was very well lit and clean. The hotel lobby was clean garbage cans were emptied.Staff were available to answer questions. Elevators were clean and working efficiently, complementary welcome drinks, coffee, water, etc. were readily available and appropriate temperatures. Always clean of any cleaning carts and room service dishes. Rooms were very clean. Sheets were super soft and air-conditioning worked better than expected.
Clean, and comfortable. Great breakfast.
A hidden gem. Kind and attentive staff. Beverly was very helpful and prompt to respond. The breakfast was great. Reminded me of grandma’s breakfast.
This might have been a Hyatt level place 20 years ago, but they have done as little as possible to maintain it. There aren't even enough linens to replace them in the rooms as they are changed. The hallways smell of sewage and stains and discolorations are visible where ever one looks.
PS: Breakfast was nasty too.
If you’re a local person in need of a night stay avoid this place at all cost. If you’re military or a veteran read how they treated a fellow veteran first before booking. Needed a room for one night because some work needed to be done on my apartment. I booked the room and pay for the room online. When I show up they hit me with a $250 deposit fee. Of course the manager tells me I’ll get it back after I check out. That’s close to double what I rented the room for! Of course being a disabled war veteran living on my VA disability I can’t afford that. I already paid my rent for my apartment the reason I needed a room for the night. The manager in sight said he called someone and was told there was nothing that could be done. There was nothing on the booking site and I showed that to him about this. However that didn’t matter. I went back later and looked at their website and couldn’t find this information. So seeing how they had my money for the room I couldn’t use and I couldn’t get a refund in time for another. Combined with a high fee that was not on the booking site I told the gentleman on site “Guess l’ll just sleep in my car” Being a combat veteran I’ve slept in worse places. He did tell me sorry for the inconvenience. The all mighty dollar once again this time over helping a war time disabled veteran. That’s the world we live in.
Overall room was ok. It was clean and the check-in staff was pleasant. The area around the hotel did not seem great and had me a little concerned for safety. The Wi-Fi in our room did not really work and the water pressure in the shower was extremely low. The food at breakfast had more variety than the typical Hotel breakfast however it was not kept well stocked and we had trouble actually getting anything to eat. Only one elevator was working and it was very slow.
Room was very comfortable to stay in and I enjoy the layout. The only thing I can complain about is that the room didn't have a microwave to warm my food, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me.
Plusses: People were nice and I slept well as the room was quiet. Also they have a pool and free breakfast. Minuses: It’s an old building in need of repair. One elevator was broken, the other was on its last legs, very slow to run with a door that opened gradually. When you turned on the bathroom light, the fan rattled loudly. There was a broken ATM machine, the door to the pool gad a broken lock so I needed to be let in and almost got locked in. Once in the pool, it was so dirty I got out again. Breakfast was mediocre.
I would like to preface this review by saying that about eight months ago, I brought my kids to Charleston and we stayed at the Hyatt House at Mount Pleasant. I am a loyal Hyatt customer, I travel a lot for work and always make an effort to stay at a Hyatt property when it’s available. While Mount Pleasant is certainly a newer and more updated property. The staff were the most horrible staff that I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with. That’s all to say, if you were expecting a new swanky hotel, this is probably not the one, but, if you’re expecting a hotel with kind welcoming and accommodating staff, clean rooms & quality complimentary breakfast, then this is a great option. It was perfect for what we needed travelling as a family of four for a long weekend. Great service, great staff, clean, five stars all around. There is only one elevator, but as long as you don’t mind being patient, it’s totally fine.
All of the staff are helpful, but it feels like there just isn't enough staff to attend to the clientele. They're always really busy and hardworking, but there is just too much work for too few workers. I personally didn't have many needs or things to be attended to, but I wasn't very confident that they could be taken care of.
Other weird things like: slow elevator door, weird bathroom layout, rust on the bathroom door hinge, etc.
Both checkin and departure clerks were multi tasking ,friendly, and happy to assist you. The breakfast staff was the same.
Don't stay here EVER! (1) The water pressurer is very weak - it cut off while I was showering. (2) Only 1 of 2 elevators were operational. (3) We asked them to fix the clogged sink which was almost overflowing (which they still hadn't fixed by 12pm!) (4) I got a call afterwards from one of 2 women at front desk accusing us of smoking Marijuana in our room. The worse part is they refused to give me the Mgr's number and they refused to call me. They o ly provided the Mgr's email. The accusations without proof is hilarious. I even had to call police because I didn't trust any thing with this hotel. I introduced my 80 or old mother (who wears a portable oxygen machine!) to the policeman and even he shook his head! Ridiculousness!!!
Great location & very clean & pleasant staff. Wonderful beds. Excellent large hot breakfast too! Would stay here again.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and professional. The breakfast was very good, and the location was perfect. Downtown was only 20 minutes away. You can go downtown and enjoy the sights and views, then head back to the hotel away from the crowds. I highly recommend staying here
