Close to airport, came in at night and wanted to get some sleep before continuing early morning flight

Great location. Clean. Our room was very roomy and nice.
The complimentary breakfast could have been a lot better. The lady that was on duty was not at all prepared. Pans were empty and she ran low on everything. Even the coffee station was empty both mornings. However, she didn't seem to be in a hurry to comply either. But other than that everything else was good. We will come back.

The shuttle driver in the morning was exceptional!
Our plane was late and arrived after midnight. Our flight was supposed to be there before midnight and our layover was I had researched to find out how to arrange a shuttle and the recording said to go to “trackmyshuttle.com” and put in a code. This webpage said it was a 24-hour shuttle, but when I put in the code, it said till midnight.
When I realized the delay was going to potentially get us there a bit after midnight, I called the front desk at 7:20 pm to clarify because of the conflicting times. I asked what happened if our plane was late and got there after midnight. The male I spoke to said if it was after 12 , I should call the front desk when we arrived and they would arrange to send a a Lyft. When we finally arrived at CLT at 12:30 (exhausted after many delays all day) I called the front desk and this time, a female answered and told me they didn’t know who told me that the hotel would send a Lyft (I had called 5 hours earlier) but there was no shuttle and no, they do not provide transportation and we were on our own to get transportation. We ended up getting an Uber $25 for a 4 minute ride. I was really disappointed and aggravated because we had already paid $170 primarily because we could get a shuttle to a place to get a 5-6 hours of sleep after a long day of travel with an overnight layover. We won’t stay here again (or any Hampton Inn) for this reason as I will either seek out a less expensive place (knowing I have to pay for transportation) or assure a 24 hour shuttle.
I will never stay here again. Nor do I recommend this hotel. I used the Hiton app to book a same day stay and chose the prepay option. Upon arrival 2 hours later, they did not have a confirmation of my stay. When I provided my confirmation number, the desk agent realized I booked the 3/17 instead of 2/17. The desk agent told me that he could not make a change and I paid for another room. At 10pm, another guest tried to enter my room. The safety latch prevented the door from opening. Moments later the ohone rang and I answered. The guy asked who I was; he had another person in this room! I stated my name and he hung up. No intro, no explanation…. The hotel won’t refund me for an obvious error. They said I must talk to “corporate.” Corporate won’t give my money back either, they say the general manager of the hotel can… The corporate contact asked me what the front desk told me the night of check in when my error was realized and I shared that he said never to do a prepaid room for any reason and maybe I could come back and use the room for a “me” day. The corporate contact said if he would have asked me to call them that night, they could’ve fixed it.
Overall, it was an unnecessary, unreasonable hassle and it wasn’t worth it to deal with this frustration any longer. I thought this was a reputable business that had good customer service… They are not.
