Pillow was too thin

I did not like the idea during check in, the staff asked for my card details should be entered in the system. This should not be done in this manner as not secure.

The staff and the room

Extremely disappointing and one of the worst hostel experiences I have ever had.

I stayed here from 16–18 September, and unfortunately this was one of the worst hostel experiences I have ever had.

I have stayed in hostels before, including other hostels during this trip, and I have never experienced anything like this.

Two guests in the room were drinking alcohol throughout the night and continued making noise from around 3 a.m. until the morning. There was constant talking, footsteps, bottles and glasses, people repeatedly going in and out of the room, and frequent trips to the toilet. The toilet door was often left open, and the noise could be heard by everyone in the room.

There were also people vomiting in the corridor, and the smell of vomit had spread throughout the area. The corridor was extremely unpleasant and smelled terrible.

The toilet in room 19 was another problem. The door made an extremely loud squeaking noise every time someone used it, which was particularly disturbing during the night. People were also talking and making noise inside the room while others were trying to sleep.

What concerned me even more was the check-in process. I did not have my passport with me at the time. I was told to email a photo of my passport to an address they provided. I was also asked to provide a bank card. When I asked why, I was simply told that it was required. My card details, including the CVV, were copied.

I found this extremely concerning from a security and privacy perspective. I immediately froze my bank card because I did not feel comfortable with my card details being copied in this way. I cannot say what their intentions were, but this experience made me feel very uncomfortable, and I strongly recommend that other guests be extremely careful about providing payment card details.

I genuinely could not understand why there was no staff intervention during the night.

A bit far from centre

Nothing about the property itself but was woken at 5.30am on Monday morning by glass bins being collected immediately followed by road sweeping machine and finished off by keg delivery for pub next door. All was going on right outside windows from 5 30-6.45am, never got back to sleep. I know it's all outside noise but nobody can sleep listening to that. Maybe the property needs to invest in sound proof windows. It was so loud it was like I was on the street with them

(Review of my female friend I booked the bed for). Hostel illegally copies ID's without permission. If the customer refuses they are told they can't stay. In England you have to provide your ID details and SHOW your ID, but making copies/scans without permission is illegal. I will be contacting the authorities and starting legal proceedings.
3 extremely drunk (one stumbled in to a wall) young males woke me at 3am. Talking loudly, laughing, slamming doors, strong odour of alcohol. One of them urinated on the floor in the room, also one dropped his phone. In the morning a rude, skinny 60yo blonde woman (I think she is a manager) tried to gaslight me when I reported the whole situation. She said I should have booked a female room! In her opinion me being in a mixed dorm was the problem, not those mens' dreadful behaviour! I told her that's so inappropriate! When I tried talking to her, she just rudely turned her back on me and went outside, behaving like an angry teen. Check other reviews and passive aggressive behaviour from manager.

Temperature in the room was maybe slightly too hot.
