We didn't have a four star experience.
Pros:

The location of the hotel is absolutely fantastic!
Especially if you're traveling by train because it's just a 2 minute walk from the station and it's just a stones throw away from the beach.
Very easy access to the main town and the great Orme so 10/10 for location.

The staff were so fabulous,
they were welcoming, warm, professional and nothing was too much for them for our entire stay.
They even kept our bags for us after checkout so we could collect them before our train departure at 3pm.
They were all exceptional and a great asset to the hotel we were grateful for their help.

The breakfast was lovely and very tasty, good options and fresh, seasoned food.
The sausages were bursting with flavor and the eggs were a perfect sunny side.
My partners favorite part was the hash browns and he confirmed they were the best he had eaten - he's a hard critic so that's a plus in my book.

The bed was so comfortable we had a great sleep and the Bible in the bedside drawer was a beautiful touch.

Cons:

The main and side bathroom lights would constantly flicker on and off, we only found out at 9pm when it was dark and we had to switch them on for the first time.
When my partner informed the receptionist she was very apologetic and explained the maintenance man had already left so they couldn't do anything until tomorrow morning, we were due to checkout at 11am so that unfortunately didn't help our situation.
Anybody with epilepsy or other light sensitivities would struggle to use the bathroom at night in this room and that was a big issue for me.

When we arrived in our room for the first time after check-in our room was on the third floor and the window protector was broken on one of the windows so the window could be opened fully and when reported to reception they promptly sent someone to our room to fix it.

The changing room facilities are only available for hotel spa members so the hotel guests have to change in their rooms and come down to the bottom floor to use the spa facilities.
They do give you gowns and slippers in the hotel room but the slippers are as thin as cardboard and don't provide much in terms of grip on the slippery floor.
I didn't like that they had changing rooms available in the spa room but they were locked for the hotel guests.
The pool is nice but has multiple spots of rust bleeding so looks a slight bit dirty when you first go down the steps into the water.
The hot tub had a strong smell of chlorine so we didn't use that unfortunately and it was something we were looking forward to using.
We only had a swim in the pool so cannot comment on the sauna and steam room.
A small thing to note, you have to walk around the pool single file when others are entering the pool area.
It felt a bit cramped and there were no more than 8 people while we were there so it was a bit of an inconvenience when trying to leave the pool room.

Pros:

Location great

Cons:

The hotel is starting to look outdated
Our evening in the bar was ruined by a teenager singing loudly and playing the piano badly . We had to leave . We were suprised the hotel let a guest monoplise the piano

Beautiful breakfast

We sample the pool and recreation area, all as it should be, just felt it could be updated.
Everything was great nothing to not like at this hotel. I'll be back.

Overpriced, dated & argumentative staff.
Pros:

Location is great. Reception staff are amenable.

Cons:

Agnes in the restaurant had an awful argumentative personality, she seemed unable to respond adequately to a simple request for a cappuccino during the breakfast service without talking over me. The bedrooms and hallways are very tired in regard to decor. Breakfast selection is good quality but pretty basic if you don’t want a fry up, no pancakes, no avocado, no cold meats or cheeses.
