the worst hotel experience
Pros:

This was, without question, the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

I booked this Holiday Inn Express after confirming it advertised itself as dog-friendly because I travel with a trained medical service dog. After a twelve-hour drive, we checked in without issue. Minutes later, while my husband took my service dog outside to relieve herself, hotel staff confronted him in an aggressive manner, told him dogs were not allowed, and demanded that we leave.

When I went downstairs, I explained that Olivia is my trained service dog and answered every question about the medical tasks she performs. Despite that, the interaction remained hostile and unprofessional.

What most disturbed me wasn't just the confusion over their pet policy; it was the way we were treated. My husband overheard staff making derogatory comments about me because of my disability, and we no longer felt safe or welcome. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism or compassion, the manager escalated it. This was some of the most unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced.

We decided to leave and find another hotel because the environment had become so uncomfortable. Even then, we were met with threats that we would still be charged despite being told our reservation had been canceled.

To make matters worse, the room itself was not in acceptable condition. It was not clean, and the temperature controls did not function properly.

No guest should have to worry about being talked about by staff, treated with hostility, or made to feel unwelcome because they have a disability or rely on a service dog.

I will be pursuing this matter through IHG Corporate, the appropriate agencies, and every available consumer protection channel. I sincerely hope management takes a hard look at how guests are treated because no one should experience what my family did.

Exceptional quality and value!
Pros:

This hotel was well situated for exploring Savannah. There was ample parking and restaurants close enough to walk after a long day of driving. The lady that checked us in was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel and our room were spacious and very clean. They had good quality bath products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion) available in the room. The free breakfast has a good selection of high quality items.

Cons:

I tend to like rooms super cold when I sleep. The air conditioner was absolutely fine for most people, it just didn't get as cold as I prefer. Very minor issue with the bathroom door scraping the floor when you opened or closed it. I imagine it was just swollen in the humidity, but I felt bad for the people below us.

Breakfast was fantastic. Bed mattress incredible. Staff wonderful and helpful. 24 hour coffee availability was very welcome some days. Close to multiple good places to eat.

Cons:

More bacon at breakfast. Rates could be a little lower. WiFi slow to load some programs.
