Sallés Hotel Mas Tapiolas

I know that style is a very personal thing, but I just found the post-modern decoration in the hotel jarring. The lounge area behind the bar was particularly bizarre, with four or five huge 1970s-style sofas, a television and a beautiful open fireplace. The last of these could have been fabulous, but the decor, to me, was totally at odds with the space. And if there is just one huge sofa in front of the fire, then (and maybe this is a British thing) I won't go and sit on another part of the same sofa if a couple is already there. With a family on another sofa watching Waterworld on TV, this was not a conducive space to enjoy a quiet drink.

There seemed to be TVs in every public room, which seemed totally unnecessary and just looked tacky. And someone needs to clean the fish tank.

However, the sound insulation in our room (or lack thereof) was by far the worst aspect of our one-night stay. In the evening, we listened to the television in someone else's room, and then to a massive argument in another room. (Eventually, someone banged on the arguing couple's door and they quietened down.) The couple in the room next to us then decided to have sex, and we could hear everything. To make matters worse, they repeated this activity at 2 am and again at 5 am. Sleep was in short supply.

The room was huge, and had a really stunning view with a nice, spacious balcony. However, again, the decor of Room 208 was not to my taste, and the two white leather recliner chairs were just ... odd.

In the bathroom, the towel rail was fixed at a wonky angle, there was a totally ineffective (and very noisy) bathroom fan, no mirror demister and no heated towel rail. I don't understand why hotels insist on having showers inside baths these days. The bathroom was small, and the bath used up a lot of space, as well as requiring one to climb into it to have a shower. Far better to have a shower cubicle only, and then some room for a heated towel rail. That said, the shower instructions were simple, and the quality of the shower was good.

The Japanese-style toilet was also a nice touch, and I appreciated the basic amenity set, which was supplied with a comprehensive list of other amenities that could be obtained for free from reception.

Breakfast was lovely (despite a few minutes of power cut), and in a very nice room, with lots of choice.

Despite its beautiful setting, this is not a place to which I will be returning.

Bel chambre mais avec un décor qui a fait son temps, un tapis immonde sur le sol gâchait tout le charme et le sur matelas un peu inconfortable. Beaucoup de choix pour le petit déjeuner et tout était délicieux sauf le pain qui était du pain industriel, dommage. En ce qui concerne la restauration j’ai trouvé que tout était très cher par rapport à d’autres restaurants dans les villages à côté. Magnifique spa.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. The hotel’s atmosphere, the comfort of the room, and the quality of service provided by your staff made my stay very enjoyable.

I enjoyed my stay at Mas Tapioles. The staff is friendly and helpful. The property is well kept. You also enjoy your peace and quiet.

What a beautiful spot! Lovely property with modern facilities in a stunning setting. Huge pool area with lots of spaced out comfortable sun beds and a handy well stocked pool bar with attentive staff. An absolute unexpected bonus was the incredibly high quality food in the garden restaurant. Worth it for this alone, but everything was top notch. Staff, spa, rooms. Excellent! Already planning to take friends for a birthday treat in spring.

We had a wonderful stay thanks to the outstanding hospitality, especially from Martin, who took great care of us and our son Leo. The amazing food and great amenities were also highlights. Great biking and hiking area. We can't wait to return

Amazing hotel and great service.
The food particularly the seafood was delicious served by the great Martin and Juliette at reception made our stay the best. The spa was impeccable and same for the rooms.
We went with children of different ages and they all could find great activities onsite.

Lovely spot and very peaceful. We stayed in a family room which was average. Kids had a pull out bed which was poor but we changed to an another room that had two single beds which was better.

Staff were reactive as opposed to proactive.

Everything at an extra cost like the pitch and putt and use of bikes.

Mark up on wine high for Spanish restaurants.

If this hotel was not so expensive and the service better and snack menu not an afterthought then it would be excellent, but it is and they are hence the poor review.

A beautiful property with amazing views and just a 15 minute drive to the beach.

Gorgeous place in a great location and the food is exceptional. Immaculate and comfortable room which included a separate place for our teen which was perfect. Plenty to do locally and easy to get into Barcelona. For more relaxing days the pool is perfect and we had fun playing pitch and putt.

The hotel offers an excellent environment for a leisurely weekend with family, nestled close to the coast yet surrounded by forest. The restaurant provides an outstanding culinary experience. The bar, featuring a charming fireplace, is a delightful spot to enjoy drinks and appreciate the crackling of wood in the fire, adding a soothing element to the serene atmosphere. Additionally, the spa adds the final touch, completing the full relaxation experience for guests.
