New Hotel République

Blev lurad på pengar. Personal i reception drog dubbel summa för stadsskatt och lovade en återbetalning som aldrig kom. Mycket dåligt. Bristande service.

Our en-suite was split into two with the toilet in one little room and the sink/shower in another. The shower room had a glass door and was opposite the bed and due to the angle of it (and the mirrors), there wasn't anywhere in the room to be where you couldn't see the person showering. Not a dealbreaker for a lot of people but a little awkward when travelling with a friend and not a partner/spouse.

We were in Paris for 3 days and things went wrong at the hotel from the start. We checked in and were given keys to the wrong room. We booked superior and were given classic which was too small for 2 people. I asked reception and they said we were given the wrong room and our booking had actually been upgraded to a “luxury” room with a balcony on the 5th floor in Gabriels house. The new room was a good size, had a big bathroom and a balcony but the AC was broken and it was 33 degrees in Paris. The shower head had no wall attachment so we had to hold the shower head while washing and the Dyson hair dryer which is wired into the wall didn’t work. There was a nespresso machine with a singular coffee pod and no milk for 2 people staying 3 nights. Were we meant to rock paper scissors to see who got it? Very stingy and for a big price with no breakfast included. It became clear why we were “upgraded”. Someone else had complained about the broken AC and had been given the room we booked instead.
I spoke to reception to ask if the AC could be fixed and they pretended this was the first they heard of it (the reviews say otherwise). We were told they’d leave a fan up to the room for us while we were out. When we returned there was no fan in the room so we went down and brought it up for ourselves. Poor service.
After a night of no sleep we asked for a room change and the receptionist said she would try and sort it (which likely means someone else would be given a “free upgrade” to our room with no AC). We went out for the day and I received a phone call an hour later saying they had a new room and we had to come back urgently to change. This was very inconvenient as we were in the middle of having breakfast with my mother and had to leave her alone to go back to the hotel. When we got back they said the room isn’t ready but we need to pack our bags and bring them all down to reception and someone will bring them to our new room for our return.

Both sinks—in the shower bathroom and toilet room drained exceptionally slow, and the one elevator wasn’t working with no timeline of when it would be fixed. I’ve lived in Paris several times for short or more extended stays since 2013, so I know how plumbing, but it’s hard to see this as a four-star hotel with that issue, when a 15min walk away I was staying at another 4-star hotel with excellent plumbing.

Carpete no quarto, mas não atrapalhou. Frigobar não gelava.

El elevador estaba fuera de servicio, pero nos reubicaron tan pronto había disponibilidad para atender a la condición de rodilla de mi esposa.

Il prezzo é troppo alto per una stanza così piccola e senza colazione compresa. Capisco che sia Parigi e anche in posizione centrale, però 250 Euro é un po’ troppo caro.

J avais reserve cet hôtel pour son calme et faut une demande spécifique. Personne ne m a prévenue que j aurais une chambre donnant sur la rue. Si j avais su j aurais annule ma réservation !

The elevator broke at the beginning of our stay and couldn’t be fixed. The breakfast was quite plain.

Chambre vraiment trop petite pour 2 personnes. Salle de bain exiguë. WC exigu. Pommeau de douche au plafond qui fuit. Pas au niveau d'un 4 étoiles.
