Schöne Anlage mit riesigem Pool, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter überall und alles da… Poolbar, Gym, Kinderspielbereich. Zum wirklich schönen Sandstrand muss man über eine Straße und S-Bahnlinie, ist aber nicht störend. Nach Lagos mit vielen tollen Restaurants und Hafen mit vielen Bootstouren sind es ca 20min Fußweg, Mietwagen ist trotzdem vorteilhaft.
Das einzige, was Verbesserungspotenzial hat, ist die morgendliche Frühstückslogistik. Einen Tisch zu ergattern und diesen beim langwierigen Essenholen vom Buffet nicht gleich wieder zu verlieren, ist eine kleine Herausforderung.
Wir hatten kein Abendessen gebucht, aber wenn es dort genauso unentspannt zugeht, würde ich davon eher abraten.
We have had a week staying half board and this hotel has exceeded all expectations. We stayed with our 2 children. Location is excellent just 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach and 10 minute Uber to Lagos. Breakfast has a great variety to suit everyone and each evening meal is themed. Some of the reviews stated that the food is not warm. However, breakfast and dinner have a 3 hour window to dine so if you come later then some of the food out will cool but it’s all fresh. Gym and indoor pool excellent. Outdoor pool is huge which the children loved. Good value for money. Our case got lost at the Airport and a huge thank you to Ines on reception for helping us!

The hotel, pools and breakfast were good.
You need to cross train tracks to reach the beach that takes about 5min to walk. Beach is beautiful but no amenities belong to the hotel there. Towels for the pool have to be picked up from the spa, very inconvenient. The outdoor pool looks amazing but very cold. Indoor pool is also surprisingly cold. Many hotels in this area are heating their outdoor pools and we were so surprised to see none of their pools were heated. If the hotel invest on hiring more staff for the towel distribution and consider heating the pool, it is a great hotel indeed. The hotel also need general maintainence since many things were worn out.

Stromausfall, Haarföhn nicht funktioniert, Klima hat gespinnt, Essen war sehr minderwertig, nicht viel Auswahl, Room Service schlecht da fast nie erreichbar, Zimmer wurde aufgeräumt aber nicht die Bettwäsche gewechselt. Der Duschkopf in der Dusche war sehr schwach. Lüftung im WC funktionierte nicht bei grösseren Geschäften.
Having stayed many times at the Vila Gale over the last 13 years this was our first visit back after 4 years. The upgraded rooms are very nice, the daily cleaning cannot be faulted and all the cleaners are very friendly and helpful and we always leave a good tip. All the staff cannot do enough to help. Our main concern was the pool area, the sunbeds which you have to admit are over 10 years old that we now about, they are sagging when you sit on them because they have been stretched that much, i had to search to find a good one every day as some of them are broken underneath and you don't realise till you sit on them, then you have to find a good one. Since our last visit the parasols have been bolted to the floor, many people as ourselves will move the parasol around with the sun, you cannot do this if they are bolted down and most of the ones we used had holes in them, if you try to move the sunbeds to follow the sun we found at one point our sunbeds were on the edge of the pool. You have a policy saying that if sunbeds are left unattended for more than 45 minutes then towels will be removed. My wife and i watched 4 days running 3 different families left towels on beds at 08:30am and the earliest any of them came back was 11:30am, you could see them all walk out of the back gate and weren't the least bothered, and when they came back just sat on them without giving a thought for anyone who could not find a bed to sit on. Please sort some new sunbeds and release the parasols. The canopies you have put around the edge of the pool are very nice, but unless you get there before 8am you will have no chance of getting one. We may return again next year but at the moment i doubt we will.
We are staying here at the moment. The hotel itself if wonderful. Very well kept, clean and good location. Same cant be said for the service. When we arrived, it took us almost an hour to check in, we have 2 small children with us who were understandably getting very frustrated. All the staff are very distracted. Rooms are lovely though. We have been to reception numerous times to request more tea and coffee for the room, over 24 hours later we still have none. Getting a drink at the pool bar takes ages, again, there aren't enough staff and the staff that are there are all distracted and chatting to each other. The main bar in the hotel is exactly the same, waited 45 mins for 3 drinks. There are no where near enough staff working here at all. Evening food is lovely, lots of selection and very tasty.
The look of the hotel is amazing, and the outside zones are clearly being taken care of. The swimming pool area is great to relax and take the kids for a swim.
Several broken things, shower flooded after a 5 min bath, pipe/sewer smell from that bathroom, bathroom door with no way of locking and makes too much noise. Bedroom door without any possibility of closing from inside to prevent kids from opening it. Second bed was small, and made way too much noise, that same bed was a sofa bed but there was no way to physical connect them meaning kids during the night would move and disconnect the bed and they would fall. AC turning off when balcony door was open (which is ok) but not turning on again afterwards making this a boring administrative work. Then the walk from the handicap parking lot to the room was a 6 minutes walking, there is only on elevator area to the room. Restaurants are super expensive, a 5 year old paid 30€ for a "buffet" because the other restaurants needed reservation. Few person's actually spoken Portuguese. The kids swimming pool which was what made us book the hotel was non functioning and the kids area was great for a 5 year old but not appropriate for a 2 year. Overall for the price I consider one of the worst experiences ever in Algarve.
