A 2-star hotel masquerading as a 4-star establishment

The Radisson Blu Port Elizabeth is nowhere near the 4-star standard it advertises. The entire hotel is tired and in desperate need of serious maintenance and refurbishment. A little TLC would not even begin to address the state of the property.

The biggest disappointment is the cleanliness, or rather the lack thereof. The housekeeping staff could certainly benefit from proper training, as the standard of cleanliness is simply unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be 4-star.

The only saving grace is the staff, who genuinely seem to be trying their hardest to deliver a 4-star experience despite the condition of the hotel. Unfortunately, their efforts can only go so far.

Management seriously needs to invest in the property rather than continuing to market it as something it simply isn’t.

This is a 2-star hotel at best, with staff trying their hardest to deliver 4-star service. The Radisson Blu name creates expectations that this property falls embarrassingly short of meeting.

THE STAFF ARE GOOD.

Cons:

The hotel is old and needs refurbishment especially of the rooms.
the mattress was finished, coffee machine leaking, aircon ancient and generally the rooms need upgrade.

Location is good, in the safer area. Despite of late arrival our room was not ready but we received an upgrade.

The on site restaurant is really as bad as the reviews say - breakfast is ok but outside of that do not eat there.

The Location and the view was great.

Cons:

The hotel is not of any 5 star standard is not in line with the international Brand.
The only good aspect of your room is the view, the furniture is cheap including the bed. There are wires hanging from the TV, and there is no internet to the TV to watch anything. I hand to even find the wire to connect the telephone to the socket.

The room is very badly maintained and is of poor standard. When you use the shower the entire room gets full of water and I had to spend time cleaning the room after every shower.

The cleaners do come every day but there is no professionalism in their work. the room is just reset.

The final straw for me was the Food and Beverage - the staff cannot understand you and there is always an incorrect order. Here i would suggest going out for dinner or lunch and not ordering from the hotel.
