The staff
I wasn’t informed that some restaurants are closed. According to should invest more for english lessons for the staff. Otherwise the staff is very kind and full of good intentions, however english knowledge ( or no English knowledge) is a barrier.
It is clean and well kept. It is well polished.
It feels dated. It does not give the modern feeling that you would expect -as part of your experience in the city- from Shanghai.

of course the building is high, and the hotel is not on the top, but on the middle of the building :)
I booked 6 rooms, received upgrade for my room. Rooms booked itself were almost the highest category with lounge access, so was hard to book.
- got welcome amenities to all 6 rooms
- lounge is very strong, and its workers are very qualified, they served our team very well all 4 days of our stay,
- received 4 pm late check-out for all 6 rooms
Concierge service helped me to achieve some rare tea from the online store,

A nice hotel located reasonably convenient though away from popular commercial area.
Checking in was a bit formal lacking warm. The room is big and comfortable though a little tired with some room light not functioning. Another discomfort is the room is rather cold for southerner like me even with Aircon set at high temp.
I therefore would give it a weak 4 rating.
Breakfast spread is good and all of us enjoy it much. Staff in cafe are helpful and attentive.
Some concierge staff are real helpful going out of their way to meet our requests. 👍
Water pressure is weak. Water temperature is very difficult to control, not stable.
I accidentally left an item behind during my stay at the Pullman Shanghai Central, and the team went above and beyond to help. Not only did they carefully package everything, but they also forwarded it all the way to my next destination in China.
I was truly amazed by how smooth, professional, and reliable the entire process was. The staff were responsive, caring, and made sure I received my package safely and in perfect condition.
This level of honesty and exceptional service is rare these days. Pullman Shanghai Central has earned my highest recommendation — if you’re staying in Shanghai, you can trust them completely.

Multiple restaurants in this hotel, if you have deep pockets the have a restaurant on the 52nd floor were steaks is £200 a pop if you can afford it why not, the staff were amazing in this hotel we had traveled in from Nanjing via the train and my 8 year old had gone and left his phone on the train, this was a nightmare for us but the staff was very helpful calling the train company which luckily someone had handed in the phone and we was able to get it back.the room was great we stayed in one of the suites on the 12th floor breakfast and afternoon tea was included as well as use of the pool and gym. The restaurant on the lower level B1 was great the all the can eat Monday to Thursday couldn’t fault it.
The only thing we had an issue with the AC unit not heating the room up other then this no issues and we would highly recommend this hotel
O ar condicionado do quarto não funcionava, simplesmente por que eles não querem que funcione. Não era defeito, era o ar central limitado em uma temperatura quente para não gastarem energia. Tive que reclamar e então no ultimo dia me deram um upgrade de quarto, que em teoria tinha ar condicionado melhor.
Resumo: economizam no básico. Estão longe de um nível internacional de atendimento e conforto.
