Hotel is centrally located with easy access to public transportation. Amenities were adequate. The staff is very friendly but there is a definite language barrier that was a bit of an obstacle. Other than that the staff was very polite abd ready to help.
Pool should not have to be a paid amenity and if so booking.com should specify it in the listing and it is not. We found out after we got the confirmation email from the hotel and since this was a last minute booking we had no choice but to accept.
That being said the hotel staff went above and beyond to suggest a work around that worked for us so kudos to the lotte city hotel mapo staff 👏 for their efforts 👌
Breakfast was very nice. The coffee was especially delicious. The location is very close to the exit of the subway station.
The windows in the room could have been a bit cleaner.
I can only say two positive things:
- A big thank you to the young man who handled my check-in. Even though he had lost his voice and could barely speak, he did everything he could to help me when my card was declined and I had to pay in cash. I really hope the hotel recognizes this young man’s effort and starts using an international POS terminal so that visitors from Europe can pay without any trouble.
- The subway station is right at the hotel entrance.
- You find a welcome note when you enter the room, announcing that the hotel has been recently renovated and is smoke-free. But to my surprise, my room STANK OF CIGARETTE SMELL. That’s how it was the whole week.🤮
- A restaurant that only offers a buffet with ridiculous prices for solo travelers.
- Despite the high nightly rates, you had to pay extra to use the pool—and even to wear a swim cap—or else you weren’t allowed in. Absurd.
- It’s a bit far from downtown, so you had to take the subway if you wanted to enjoy Seoul’s nightlife because there’s nothing interesting around the hotel.
Room size and silence
Rooms could slowly use renovation, stains on carpet, marks on walls
Loved the location and access to the subway. Front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly. Also very convenient to have multiple dining options on B1 and a pharmacy and 7-11 onsite. Beds were also comfortable, huge TVs and nice shower/tub.
Our room was dirty with someone else’s hair still on the walls of the shower, filthy carpet and sofas covered in hair too. It was wonderful having a separate living room, but it was very dark with no windows. Not related to hotel but the employee at 7-11 was extremely rude.

The hotel is good overall, but I don’t think it deserves a 4-star rating. It feels more like a 3-star hotel. The price is relatively high considering that breakfast is not included. There is no luggage porter service, the lobby is quite small, and there is no concierge. However, the location is convenient, especially with the subway station nearby
The biggest disappointment was the star rating. On Booking.com, the hotel was listed as a 4-star property, but the sign at the hotel entrance showed 3 stars. This was confusing and created expectations that were not met. Overall, the hotel felt more like a 3-star hotel than a 4-star one.
Exceeded expectations, way more access to amenities and convenience than expected, better location too
Staff not get my down under Wnglish and always advising the more expensive option eg. Taxi to airport when next door subway direct airport access w elevator
