Hemel at the front desk provided truly exceptional customer service during my stay at La Quinta Inn in Fort Walton Beach.
I traveled from Massachusetts to attend an Air Force Civilian Service Hiring Event hosted by Eglin Air Force Base. Because of Tropical Storm Bertha, my incoming flight was redirected to New Orleans, resulting in a three-to-four-hour delay. I did not arrive at the hotel until approximately 8:45 p.m., and the hiring event was scheduled to begin at 9:00 the following morning.
I had expected the hotel to have a business center where I could print copies of my résumé, cover letter, and transcripts. When I learned that a printer was not available for guest use, Hemel immediately stepped in to help. On both mornings of the hiring event, she printed five to ten copies of each of my documents as soon as I asked. She even took the initiative to carefully organize and staple every set for me.
After such a stressful and unpredictable travel experience, Hemel’s kindness, professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond made an enormous difference. Her assistance allowed me to arrive at an important career event prepared and confident. This was customer service at its absolute best.

They let us check in a little bit early and provided room that were right next door to each other. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.
The pool was closed for maintenance for hal5of our trip and they did not respond to a partial refund request. We were on the 4th floor and the elevators were bad. They were completely shut down for a full day. The breakfast was ok but offered the same thing every day and no refrigerator with cold options. Listing said beach access was within a mile, but actual access was not within reasonable walking distance.

Love the location of this hotel. It’s close to the beach, and also a lot of restaurants, and downtown area.
The first night when I checked it, the elevator wasn’t working & the front desk personnel did NOT let me know. They gave me a room on the third floor, and when they saw me waiting for the elevator, they told me I had to take the stairs.

It wasn’t very clean, the place smells, needs a A Lot of renovation, there was mold on the ceiling of the bathroom and looked like they tried to covered it with paint, there was pet’s hair around the room closed to the walls and carpet, the remote control for the tv in the room felt grease. I saw the person that was “cleaning” the rooms every day that I was there but I never heard the vacuum going on. The room smelled a lot of bleach when we checked in but I honestly think they’ll do that for you to think is clean, because it wasn’t. Breakfast wasn’t good either. Overall I wont be staying there again.

Breakfast was the same everyday Saturday-Tuesday And was not much of a selection. I liked the location, it was close to everything.
There were rats crawling in the walls every night, this was basically a doggie hotel. I’ve never seen so many dogs in one hotel. And we had dog hair in our room and we don’t have a dog. I was immediately grossed out. And breakfast was the same every single day which was sad.
Not much of anything to praise here. The breakfast was ok if you didn't have to deal with the staff which were rude and unhappy.
The pool is out of commission and has been for a while. No answers as to why or if they are even trying to fix it. Internet sucks can't even stream a show without buffering. The dog area is not fenced in and attaches to the overflow/truck parking so it's just an empty gravel lot with a little grass. Paid an additional pet fee and a deposit in cash only for damages from the pets. Except its not for damages it's if and when they decide they want to keep some of the money. We stayed for a week, had no housekeeping the entire time we were there, so yea of course the room is gonna be a little bit more dirty than normal rentals but that is no reason to keep part of the deposit just because you have to spend extra time cleaning, what was my pet fee even for??? The TV is tiny, the room smelled horrible upon entry, the service from everyone was rude and nasty it's not a place I will ever spend money at again. I felt I should be getting money back from them instead they ended up keeping more of mine.
