I normally do not leave negative reviews, but this needs to be addressed. During my stay, the odor coming from the front desk employee was extremely strong and unpleasant for multiple days in a row. It was noticeable throughout the lobby area, and several guests and even staff members were commenting about it.
A hotel’s first impression starts at the front desk, and unfortunately this created a very uncomfortable experience. I hope management addresses the issue professionally because cleanliness and presentation are a major part of hospitality.
The location was great since we were traveling through that area to reach our destination.
The breakfast was great for a light breakfast to get our morning started.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Nothing. It’s a good place to stay.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Felt bad for the front desk attendant but she held strong as she tried to help fix all the reservation and walk in room assignments.
Room was not clean. Crumbs in pull out sofa bed. Shower door would not stay closed. Stain on sofa.
Improved since the last visit. Clean room, quiet environment. The walls are still thin, and not everything works, but the parking is safe and plentiful, the amenities are pleasant, and the staff are friendly. Worth a second chance!
It was clean.
The room was very small.
Bizarre experience. The lobby, hallways and room all had different unpleasant smells. Room cleanliness was questionable. Staff was not welcoming.
Location was convenient for our plans. The room was spacious, bed comfortable.
There was only one elevator and it seemed to be a hassle to use. Only one ice machine and on the first floor. Despite it being non smoking and the signs stating there was a fine for smoking/vaping, someone was definitely stinking up the hallway or stairwell, but no one seemed to care.
Close to Biltmore, small, quiet.
I could tell that some updates had been done to this older hotel which looked great, however, there were still some things that needed updating. The guest information books in the rooms were not accurate. For example tv channels did not match the guide. The fan in the bathroom did not work, not a huge deal but for such a small room with minimal airflow it’s a nice feature to have, especially when traveling with someone else.
Rooms were neat beds were comfortable and well made
Easy to access Biltmore, downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway
Very clean and quiet
Breakfast could have been better ..
We've stayed here several times over the past few years to visit children and grandchildren in the Asheville area. The location is central to many of Asheville's best restaurants and shops. It's easy to jump on and off Rt. 40.
There has been a noticeable decline in cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms and property in the last couple of years. Our queen room this past week was miserably small and cramped. The bathroom had a sliding barn door style that didn't stay open, so it became an annoyance. Unfortunately, it also had a large gap when it was closed and didn't afford much privacy. Although the room had been "cleaned", the floors were still sticky and dirty and the room had a general dusty yuck factor. The refrigerator made loud, weird sounds throughout the night - like pounding and whirring, so we didn't sleep well at all. The bed was not comfortable either. It had a thick pad that was made for a twin bed which kept sliding off kilter, becoming lumpy throughout the night. I don't think that removing the pad would add any comfort, however. Throughout our stays here over the past few years there's been a steady, negative decline. We decided this was our last stay at Brookstone Lodge - we'll be looking at other properties in the area for our visits to Asheville. I'm sorry to be so negative, and I do realize that many establishments in Asheville have had a hard time recovering from the flood during Hurricane Helene, but at this point, it is not worth the money or our unease.
