Great hotel with character.
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent and the staff in the breakfast room were very attentive.
Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We had drinks in the lounge and the prices were the same as near the cathedral so no overpriced beer. Lovely flower arrangements in the lobby. All in all we enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel. It was a nice hotel in a great location and would definitely stay there again.

Pros:

Aussergewöhnlich freundliche, hilfsbereite und kompetente Mitarbeitende. Super Lage und fantastisches Frühstück mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Parkservice kostet, aber lohnt sich.

Big disappointment

The building itself is beautiful and has a lot of potential to become a charming hotel in Strasbourg. Unfortunately, in this case, they have not been able to bring that charm to life.

Cons:

The room was old and worn out, with chipped furniture and dirty corners. It did not provide us with a luxury experience. However, what made our stay truly awful was the breakfast experience the following morning.

We were the first guests to arrive early in the morning. As we lifted the tongs from the “Gugelhupf” cake, a swarm of fruit flies rose from it. We then discovered dozens of fruit flies on all of the items served on the buffet. We were able to order egg dishes from the kitchen, but we soon noticed a local stray cat running into the kitchen. According to the hotel staff, this was a normal occurrence and did not raise any hygiene concerns for them.

We were absolutely disgusted by this incident, especially in addition to the vast number of fruit flies on the food. This is not the sort of experience we expected from a luxury hotel chain. We were still charged for the breakfast, despite not feeling comfortable eating any of it.

We were upgraded to a charming garden room without asking. All the facilities were lovely however we chose not to eat breakfast there as there were so many options locally to choose from which we thought offered better value for money.
