Location and breakfast
Not enough breakfast seating one of my rooms had dirty ice bucket, popcorn under sofa, no soap in bathroom, no complimentary water. Like room hadn't been cleaned well.
Breakfast was excellent. No enough space for guests though.
water pressure was bit low. mattress sagged in the center.
it was a great time.
everything was just right.
Maybe I’m becoming too picky. I’m not paying and for what you get it is priced correctly. I expect more from the brand. Staff is very nice and helpful. Overall very dated hotel. In a room with two queen beds. First bed I chose is very had and makes a clanking sound everytime I move. Chose other bed and it was comfortable and quiet, so I had a good sleep. The rooms are so dark with little lighting. The rooms aren’t overly dirty but they are dingy. Housekeeping took my dirty towels I had hung up to use again and didn’t leave new towels. I’m by myself so I still have a towel for the next morning. Breakfast is very good. Coffee is horrible. The hotel would fit the need if it’s one night before an early flight.
Breakfast was wonderful
For over 8 years, this location has been my go to hotel in Columbus for my 2-3 visits a year. The location is hard to beat with close proximity to the airport, downtown, Easton and Polaris. When I stayed here in November, things had changed. The lobby is beautiful, but the room was looking worn.
This stay will be my last. The furniture in my room was beat up and gross. The table off the kitchen had hot plate burn marks all over it. The handle to pull the shower door shut from the inside was missing. Lamps in the room had bent lamp shades. In the bathroom there was no soap. No bar soap and no shower gel. There was only shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The soap dispenser in the shower was completely gone.
When I returned to my room after the first night, the inside door latch was shut and the door could not be opened from the outside as if someone was in the room. The front desk called maintenance, who thankfully, brought security to the room to search it after maintenance was able to open the latch. In 50 years of hotel stays, this was a first for me.
Maintenance and security were very nice.
Another change over the past 5 months is parking is now $6 per night. While not expensive, I’m not why there is now a charge. It’s a wide open parking lot adjoining other hotels and townhouses. The same security vehicle was parked to the side of the hotel and wasn’t moved during my two night stay.
Overall, the staff is friendly except for the front desk when I asked for soap because I had none and she seemed put out to have to go to the back room to get some.
I will not return to this Embassy Suites in the future. It has steadily declined over the years and there are better options in the Columbus area.
