Great place for a short stay in Salt Lake city.
Pros:

Great location to where we needed to be (Asher Adams). Near several locations we wanted to see as well. The folks at the front desk were very nice and accommodating The room was also nice. Had breakfast included and plus for the money. The room was clean and comfortable.

Great one night stay.
Pros:

Very surprised with our stay. Only one night. Folks at front desk very welcoming. Staff also nice. Hotel was clean and nice. Room, on 5th floor big, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in morning was plentiful, varied and delicious. Sites in city within walking distance. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

A Wonderful Experience
Pros:

My wife and I were on a cross country trip and stayed at the Salt Lake City Downtown Hyatt Place for two nights. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and very quiet (although we had to turn on the room air to drown out some night time city noise that could be heard through the windows). The hotel provided breakfast with many choices, but on one of the days, some items were not replenished very quickly and were empty, but that happens at most hotels. We appreciated a large gym with a decent amount of equipment.

OK but having to pay TWICE for the 5 day stay is very distressing. The hotel has not helped.
Pros:

Location was good, Staff friendly.

Cons:

Breakfast was average. Cereals were all sugary. But MAJOR problem was I booked and paid for 5 days through booking,com. The hotel manager said that was ok and when I left the hotel I was not charged for the room. However, 2 weeks later I was charged for the room again without any explanation. My credit card bank is disputing but without success. Either the Hyatt has "lost" the payment from booking.com, or booking.com did not forward the money. Either way, I am the loser. It's been 3 weeks and no resolution. I will never stay again nor will I ever use booking.com. unless this issue is resolved.

Stay was okay, but I wouldn't pay this much again for this room.
Pros:

Check-in was pleasant & fast. Breakfast was good. I really liked that you have scrambled eggs & hard boiled eggs.

Cons:

The room did not meet my expections. The restroom looked like remodeling went wrong. Some of the tiles look like if they were put on in a hurry, the cement is coming off/ breaking apart. Not pleasant to look at when using the toilet. Feels like I over payed for that specific room.

Pros:

This is a pretty standard Hyatt Place property, with the exception of the customer service, which was stellar. Crystal at the front desk greeted us warmly upon our very late arrival, anticipated our queries, and remembered us when we returned. She’s a gem.

Very enjoyable to come 'home' to after a long day in the city.
Pros:

Breakfast has fresh fruit (whole and cut), eggs, bagels, toast/bread, yogurt, cereal, hot cereal, rotation of meat (ham, sausage, bacon), rotation of bread type item (cinnamon roll, biscuit, fried potatoes). Lots of good options. Room was very large with good, comfortable furnishings. Clean room, kept clean during our stay. Location is next to the Delta center and not far from the Union Event Center. Also felt like a very safe area, saw many students and workers (cubicle buildings nearby as well as school), but did not see homeless or vagrants in the area. Many local shopping options (markets, thrift, bodegas, even a target not far away).

Cons:

The Hyatt is renovating rooms, however much of the hotel is older. If this annoys you, you may not like this hotel. There are peeling wallpaper, fading, scuffed, marked doors and walls. Elevator button with broken outer ridge, things like that.
