The location was great because it was a short walk to Eden Park and close to downtown Cincinnati.
I booked and canceled the first reservation on February 12 and on the same day I booked another reservation adding one day to the original booking. Three months later during my stay the hotel charged my credit card creating pending charges for $1,454 and $265.62 and on another incident my credit card company declined a $563 charge. They could explain these charges adequately. For example, the manager claimed the $1,454 pending charge was because of a cancelled reservation- we cancelled a reservation through booking.com 3 months prior and should not have been the reason for these pending charges. Finally, when I got home from my vacation I noticed a $445.52 payment to the hotel from my cc. I went to the hotel front desk multiple times to get things resolved - I can’t believe the employees are that inept so it may be a system issue and possibly more people are having the same experience. Going to complain to corporate to get this resolved. I already paid Booking.com in full $1,599 for my stay and the only other charges are $90 for parking.
I liked the location, but there are other hotels I could stay at next time I visit the city which will be quite often.
BOTH Booking.com AND the hotel stated very clearly that these rooms would sleep 4 people (adults) on a King bed and a sofa bed; however, while there was a King bed, there was NOT a sofa bed or a pull-out couch as it was INSTEAD a TRUNDLE bed and ONLY a TWIN NOT A DOUBLE or a FULL, so there is absolutely NO way 4 adults could sleep in both rooms I booked. They were NOT accommodating and said I could just book another room (and spend another $800 for 3 nights) which I could not do (nor should I have had to). So 2 adults slept on the hard couches instead of beds for 3 nights...!!! AND under the trundle beds was DIRT and ASHES from cigarettes and cigars...!!!
Reserved a king room with two adults and two children. When I checked in on line, I requested linens for the sofa bed. Linens were in room, appears as a regular addition, in the closet, two sheets, one blanket, one pillow without a pillow case. Called front desk, and requested another pillow and pillowcase. Was told housekeeping had already left and they couldn’t help me. Also, only two towels were in room. Had to go down to front desk to get additional towels. They were not brought up because no additional staff was there.
Parking is an additional charge, not listed on website. Told at front desk that cars were broken into the previous night and to park in the deck under the hotel.
I really wanted to like SpringHill Suites by Marriott Cincinnati Midtown, but my experience was disappointing.
There is a $10 overnight parking fee, which would be reasonable if I had actually stayed overnight. I checked in around 6 PM and left before 9 PM because the room was not tolerable, yet the fee still applied.
The hallways were dimly lit, which immediately gave a poor first impression.
Room 325 had a strong, musty odor upon entry — similar to a damp, enclosed space and it did not improve even after running the AC and bathroom fan. Cleanliness was also an issue. The refrigerator handle had visible buildup and crumbs, and the desk chair had a strong odor that suggested it had not been properly sanitized.
Unfortunately we can’t record smells so no photos available.
At a glance, the hotel appears nice, but the underlying hygiene issues made it uncomfortable to stay. For that reason, I can only give this property a two-star rating.
Close to where we needed

Everything was good. No problem at all here. Would come back.
Nothing
Parking
Very clean and cozy
I tried to cancel my reservation and after talking to booking.com and the hotel calling 4 times I was still charged by the hotel for my stay. The only reason I booked was to attend a Cheer Competition that was cancelled so no reason to come with all the snow that was expected.
I just wanted someone either the Manager at the hotel or booking.com to take ownership of the situation. Next time I won't book at this hotel directly OR booking.com this has been a really bad experience.
