Lovely clean room. Bathroom was exceptional. Good breakfast with excellent choices.
Couldn't find breakfast times anywhere.
Recently refurbished & changed from an Ibis to part of the AC Marriot group so everything was very new & shiney
Nothing obvious - the only criticism is they had run out of non-dairy milk alternatives, but staff did their best to try and resolve this, but as we were only there one night it was not really an issue!
Excellent hotel in a great location.
Air Conditioning was fantastic
Being the room next to the corridor hallway door, from early in the morning it was constantly in use by other guests and the banging when it closed woke me
Up every morning and kept me awake! Room 218!
Recently refurbished creating a nice and new feel to what was a tired decor.
Lack of staff in the restaurant behind the bar. Clearly a kitchen problem too. Unable to fulfil kitchen orders quickly and on time, when the restaurant filled up. Numerous guests were complaining
Staff, cleanliness, food all good ... but spoilt, disappointingly, by the obvious indifference this company has to providing good customer service to it's patrons. There was insufficient staff available on the Friday eve, which meant a long wait at the bar on the Friday evening where both food AND drinks had to be ordered from one poor, beleaguered staff member! This long weekend was 'The Festival of Quilts' weekend and the bar at one time was 20 deep with people waiting to order drinks and/or food. If it hadn't been for another patron who was waiting to order, very kindly allowing me go before her to order our drinks, my dinner, which had already arrived on the table would have been cold before I managed to get served. Extremely poor! This obvious indifference to customer service by AC Marriot Hotel NEC and Airport very nearly spoilt the weekend for us - a special treat for a friend who is going through a difficult time. Unfortunately, I suspect that as far as the hotel owners are concerned, ensuring there had been sufficient staff on duty for this weekend would have eaten too much into their profit (and Staff going sick at last minute is a contingency they should be prepared for and not a reasonable excuse BTW). AC Marriot Hotel NEC & Airport had a 'captive' audience, so why should they care - greed wins every time sadly. We previously stayed at this hotel when it had been called 'Ibis' and had a much better experience.
That there was not enough staff on duty for an anticipated busy weekend.
Recently refurbished so the rooms and public areas were very good. Comfortable bed and well equipped bathroom.
The service in the bar and restaurant were really bad. Staff were clearly struggling as not enough plates, bowls, glasses or cutlery were available. There was a very strange reservation system for food so lots of complaints from guests having to wait over an hour for food and despite reserving a table no space being available. It felt as though the kitchen could not cope at all with the volume of guests. At breakfast, again constantly running out of crockery and the food quickly ran out even though they must know how may people are staying. It spoilt what was otherwise at comfortable stay.
The bedrooms were clean, had good tea/coffee facilities, plenty of soaps shampoos etc and provided bath robes
The service in the restaurant was poor. Staff friendly but not enough of them. Queued at the bar for 20 mins to order food at 6pm. Ordered a cold sharing platter starter and it took 1 hour 20 mins to arrive. Many other people on our table who ordered 20 mins after us received their hot meal before us. A member of staff came to apologise and said could she get us something as we still had to wait a while after 1 hour waiting so we ordered 2 non alcoholic drinks which she brought to us and proceeded to charge us £10 for them. We had thought this gesture was complimentary for the terrible inconvenience.
The staff were all very friendly (special shout out to Helen at the front desk). The rooms weren't the largest but had everything I needed and were spotless. I particularly liked that you could really adjust the thermostat in the room. The food in the restaurant was good.
I thought it was good.
Clean, cool, comfortable
A bit hard to access, especially on foot.
Brilliant
People very nice
AC Hotels is clearly the poor relation of the Marriott brand. Staff training is poor too as those responsible for prepping the rooms left a lot to be desired. Hotel paper invoice states AC Hotel, yet credit card entry says IBIS Hotels. Queuing to register took a total of twenty minutes as only one receptionist was on duty, yet plenty of other staff were walking by. The room was small, just big enough for the MASSIVE wall mounted flat screen TV. Bed was comfy and aircon good. No tissues in the container in the bathroom and needed to ask for more sugar, tea and some spoons!!! Breakfast was ok but why an additional £2.00 for eggs other than fried?? Sorry, won’t be staying again as we don’t want to risk a similar experience.
Clean
